    That is a developed fault.

I'm in the "latent defect" camp here - if we accept that the OP washed it in accordance with the label, either it's made from the wrong fabric, or it had the wrong wash instructions.

My guess is that this was a cheap print stuck onto a cheap shirt, and that the washing instructions applied to the original shirt. The print has reacted to the wash, the detergent or the drying process and pulled the shirt with it.

But what do you mean by being in the "latent defect" camp?

Are you agreeing it isn't covered by chargeback?

But what do you mean by being in the "latent defect" camp?

There seems to be some disagreement as to whether the fault existed at the time of purchase, or whether the goods were conforming when sold but later developed a fault.

It seems to me that the fault was present at the time of purchase but was not immediately apparent. It only became visible after washing.

Are you agreeing it isn't covered by chargeback?

I'm not an expert on chageback but if born_again was correct when they stated upthread:

Except fr a chargeback it has to be faulty on purchase, not at any point later.

The fault existed at the time of purchase, so chargeback should apply.

At point of purchase there was no known fault. That is what the chargeback is based on.

I have had band t-shirts in the past and some of them on the label advise not to use conditioner but wash on 30 or 40 c wash.

Unless the the OP shows us the label we are only going on their sayso.

Also how can OP proove that they followed the label instructions if the company don't roll over and pay back?

A pic of the label and shrunken t - shirt may shed some light on the issue.
