Nice one.
I wonder how they will work out the length of continuous membership. I've read the T&Cs but couldn't see it mentioned.0 -
Yes, I was wondering the same. It looks like continuous membership is based on the date you first became a Skipton member. In my case, that was ~December 2008, when my ISA funds were transferred from Icesave after the UK Government rescue.

The same way any Building Society does - the date of your first eligible account with the Building Society including any Building Society it's merged with (e.g. Scarborough Building Society)

I wonder how many members they have.

This was from their Annual Reports & Accounts 2025, dated 17 February 2026 and issued with the AGM Voting Pack:

Anyone better at maths than me care to work out the odds of winning depending on number of years membership.

not every BS does it like that. YBS, for instance, will use your oldest active account. Do you know for certain what Skipton will use? What is your source for this information?

Surely "length of continuous membership" is derived from the Building Societies Act, as a continuous period a member has held "a" share in the society. If a member has an account then opened another and closes the first, they have continuous membership.
