Yes I do, Octopus never changed the meter number on the bill when smart meter was fitted

The meter number EDF are using does not match the old number Octopus used neither does it match the actual number on the smart meter it seems to be plucked out of thin air.

The fact is Octopus agreed with them a closing reading but possibly the wrong meter number, I gave Octopus and EDF a photo on switch day. My closing reading from Octopus is 0000.5 adrift of my photo, If either of them had a clue what they were doing they should have noticed the meter number didn't match the number on the photos I sent them.

EDF used a meter number not linked to Octopus or my smart meter, their opening reading was 04952 where my agreed closing reading with Octopus was 00315.5

It's a mess but I have records of readings, photos, emails, texts. I can handle it no worries I will be billed only for what I use and I will happily pay up

I might also add my smart meter was fitted 16th September 2025 with a closing reading of 4615.

EDF opened my gas account with a reading of 4952 and an unrecognised meter number

This is unbelievable!. I'd just point out that your DNO may help you discover where the meters whose numbers you're seeing are installed. That may of course be your address, but it could equally well be someone else's. My DNO is NGED, and they have this nifty tool on their website. Your DNO may not be so helpful …

I am not very interested in finding out where things went wrong or mixed up meter numbers, Octopus and EDF can sort that out between themselves

I'm only interested in facts and I have plenty.

All I want is the correct usage each month and an accurate bill

Yes it had changed since I read it earlier. Posts have vanished. I was intending to buy some popcorn or peanuts.

This matches up then - I suspect that final reading was estimated on the basis of what they would have expected the use to have been on the old meter over that period, but of course you have the Smart meter readings to confirm what you actually used.
