You are correct EDF initially stated I did not have a smart meter then after photos confirmed I did

You are also correct the number on the bill does not match the number on the meter

This was supposedly all sorted out by 10th August after EDF wanted a clearer photo of the meter

Is the left hand not talking to the right hand

That sounds the most likely situation, yes.

In you'd position I'd be raising a complaint.

As well as a complaint , I would also check their DD predictions too.

From my experience, their billing accuracy leaves a very great deal to be desired.

A cynic might suggest that it is intentional as the inaccurate billing can be harnessed by EDF to block transfers away.

Have we established that the meter on the bill is the same one that was switched? Could it be simply a matter of a mistyped entry on EDFs system, or possibly a mistyped entry on the transfer form?

Not sure where the error was originated.

I am a current customer victim of EDF as they keep blocking my transfers away. Which is because of their billing errors.

I suspect they may well be the supplier on most people's "barge pole list" in fact! 😂

Certainly at the top of my list - They took on Toto the Clowns customers just as I had managed to get away from the buffoons. EDF promptly did an erroneous transfer back to themselves… Six years on, they still haven't sent me an accurate bill for usage while I was with Toto.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Hi MIke - do you have access to old bills which show the serial number of the meter that was removed? Does that confirm that you are still being billed on the old meter by EDF, even though Octopus were successfully billing on the newly installed one?
