Firstly I have to say a great big thank you to djblamire for telling me about my right to cancel with aol mid contract due to the changes in t&c :T
Anyway, i mustard the courage this morning and called them, they waffled on for ages but eventually gave me a mac code :j now I'm stuck lol, do I have a time limit to move to another provider and although getting the mac code was fairly simple. are aol likely to stop the migration saying that i'm still tied into the contract ?
They would'nt cancel my account right away because she said that would then make it harder for me to move to another provider as I would have to wait longer, is that correct ?
If all goes to plan I just need to find another provider now, been with aol for so long, it's all very scary :eek:Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

Also, as your migrating and not a new connection a lot of ISPs will let you join without the need to being tied down to another 12month minimum term contract.
* This £60 fee is always charged by BT but some ISPs (like AOL) do not pass this charge on to you but instead tie you down to a 12month minimum term contract and obviously over time they get this back then.0 -
My aol MAC code expires at the end of August but it is best you check with them

quick question that those busy migrating may know. well got success phoned up aol and got my mac key no probs just one thing that is confusing me now. they reckoned my dd would still need to be took for the following month as could take up to thirty days to transfer (payable 24th usually comes out 31st ish) signed up with new isp and got an email saying dd coming out 13th. so long as i phone aol and inform them as soon as migrated would i be within my rights to cancel the direct debit for aol as surely if they no longer have control of the adsl line so to speak before the due date i wouldnt owe it would i as paid monthly in advance. It is not what you give your friend, but what you are willing to give him that determines the quality of friendship. -- Mary Dixon Thayer0

Ellie, I got my MAC code from AOL with an expiration date of 31.7.05. But I have signed up now to go with TalkTalk and it seems its rubbish. All I wanted was an ISP which I could use anytime and a free phone tech line as I am a dipstick! They call me Mr Pig!0

yes, you should get the 7 days as FOxy says. Try Plusnet.
