Change to Fleur telecom - is this OK?

I had an email this morning from TalkTalk (with whom I have had email and broadband for many years) telling me that my contact has been moved from TalkTalk to Fleur Telecom as from 3 days ago. I had no warning or notification that such a change would be taking place. Is this genuine, or am I being taken for a ride? And what difference will this make to my emails or broadband?

Fleur is part of Telecom Acquisitions Group (TAG), and TAG have (in their words) "a recent partnership" with TalkTalk that has seen some customers moved from TalkTalk to TAG's brands.

So it could be genuine.

I can't comment on whether it will affect your services, sorry.

When you move, you will still be serviced by Openreach. Wouldn't surprise me if you don't notice any difference at all.

Saying that, do you use a TalkTalk email address? or have a home phone line through TalkTalk?

I also had an email this morning telling me my service had been transferred to Fleur from 7 August, but would be managed by Talk Talk until the transfer was fully completed on 1 September. Again, promising no change to service.

I am actually in the process of switching to another provider (not Fleur!) wef 1 September which was confirmed by Talk Talk by both email and letter dated 6 August stating that I need take no further action.

Since 6 August my answerphone seems to have been bombarded by robot messages purporting to be from Talk Talk saying that "an adviser is trying to contact you for further details". Why?

I see the number in my "missed calls" is 0345 172 0088. I believe this is a Talk Talk number (but could be "cloned" of course) but has been looked up on "Who Called Me?" almost 100k times and rated negative.

From media reports Talk Talk seem to be "selling" customers in huge quantities with no prior notification. 120 k have been moved to Rise Fibre recently.

TalkTalk are not in a good financial position (link, link) so transferring low-value customers away will reduce their costs and increase average revenue per customer.
