Help With Item Not Received

Hi, I posted a large letter second class on Thursday 23rd July. On Wednesday 29th the buyer opened an INR case. I messaged them saying Royal Mail are awful at the moment, but could they give it till Monday and if it's still not arrived I would refund in full.

No reply.

I noticed on Friday that they have posted positive feedback so the item has obviously been received. I messaged them saying I was glad that it had arrived and could they please cancel the INR (as I can't).

No reply.

I politely asked them to close it again today.

No reply.

No sure what to do now as its obviously arrived as there is feedback but I know ebay are notorious for siding with the buyer?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Was this sent via an online label and does it show delivered? If so add the delivery number to the INR and contact eBay and let them know it’s delivered. If it doesn’t show as delivered you could still try eBay, although they don’t usually accept feedback as proof of receipt, but it’s worth a try.

If it doesn’t show as delivered then refund, and use your POP to do an online claim with RM.

Thanks Soolin, but surely if they've left feedback then its obvious that its been delivered?

Sorry should say this is not simple delivery just a second class stamp.

I have been in this situation before, some buyers never seem to read messages, particularly if they have bought through a different site to eBay . The case will only be found in the buyers favour if they ask eBay to step in, which they probably won't do if they have received it. The case will disappear after around 20 days if nothing happens.

If you are still concerned, there is usually a contact telephone number on the invoice, give them a call and explain the situation to them.

Sorry should also say that it HAS been delivered so obviously I can't claim from Riyal Mail!

If the buyer does not escalate the case,  the case will just close through inactivity ?

eBay will not action a refund unless the buyer is dishonest here,  and escalates the case.

I suppose that was my question (although I didn't articulate it very well)....thank you both for your help. I will continue the habit of a lifetime and do nothing!

What does the positive feedback say? I know some people like to vent but eBay only allows positive feedback until a certain time period has elapsed. Some 'positive' feedback can actually be quite scathing and not prove delivery at all.

Does the feedback say received or nice item or anything to suggest it has arrived?

if you have online delivery proof from RM then add to the case and ask eBay to close the INR in your favour. I would not let this timeout as a dishonest buyer can just get it closed in their favour and you get a seller strike.

Thanks, I've added proof of postage and mentioned the feedback.
