Apologies I may not have been clear. I have told AE I am happy to return and requested an address multiple times. I just don't understand what the process is if it's a refund on condition of return but I have no means to return it due to AE not engaging.

If it goes on will the bank eventually say (assuming I've provided proof) okay we'll just refund you or will I be stuck in an endless limbo?

I do not expect a no return refund nor am I seeking it I'm just concerned that AE have acted in bad faith throughout and I worry they'll endlessly delay it by not telling me where to send it.

I know someone who bought via Klarna and won their case and because AE refused to engage with a return it was put through as a no return refund but no idea if Klarna and a bank/credit card would do the same things

Some people have said you need proof of receipt of the returned goods for refund from a bank or credit card company and some say just proof of return.

You also need to find out who pays for the item to be returned to China if that's the destination.

When I spoke to someone at AE they said it's processed at a UK warehouse but I don't trust AE

I've done multiple Aliexpress returns, they've always only ever been returned to a UK address.

But have all of them been signed for and refunds given to you?

What is the town/city that the returns go to if you can recall please.

I've only used Ali express for low value items but when they've sent me a returns label I've had a refund as soon as the package is scanned at the post office. If memory serves the return address was near Bristol Airport but it was a while ago.

Liverpool via DPD. I got an advanced refund but that was listed due to shopping habits eg I use them a lot and have done for years. This is with regards to a return done a couple of days ago.

    Regs say Proof of return.

    Totally different.

When you say "Regs say Proof of return", in the context of a choice between proof of return (i.e. proof of posting) or proof of receipt (by the merchant), this goes against all the other threads about returning goods to China, where it's stated that chargeback will only apply if it can be proved that the returned goods were received by the merchant? Are you able to share the actual wording?

Sorry can't share wording, as unable to access works system to copy & post to home PC. Forums & social media are blocked on works system.

By proof of return. I mean that merchant has received item.
