If it was me I would be worrying most about what my partner will say.
Didn't she ask about the car when it suddenly disappeared?
You have done one positive thing by doing what UC have asked for.
You just need to wait and see what their response is.
In the meantime, give some thought to how you are going to come clean to your girlfriend and what you are going to do about your gambling addiction.
She deserves honesty - don't make it all about you.

Thank you for the advise i wil do it. A said the car was to settle a loan i owe. Feel terrible absolutely the worst.
I cant get assess to the account as it dispeared and was closed months ago. But when they do get it they will see cash withdrawl alot over time. Ive been bad over the years. My statements on my open accounts are full off gambling but not alot amounts. Im seeking help as clearly its a problem.

So I guess you also need to speak to the person who you still owe money to which was the reason you sold the car.

Hi, The loan i owe is a bank.

I am unclear how you can close a bank account that you are in debt to? I didn’t think banks allowed that to happen.
Unless I have misunderstood where your debt was sitting at the time.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I would definitely get in control of the facts in case you need to detail and document. Any closed account… they will still hold records for years… you may still see statements in online banking (mailbox?).. you can always ask them for copy of documents if not and they should have no difficulty finding an old account. But I understand the period in question could be out of range of what they're asking statements for…. so may not be required.
Worth reminding…. paying off debts is never considered deprivation of capital for Universal Credit so if you happened to get some money again I would start repaying any loans or debts as is affordable… definitely if you were to sell something high value taking you over savings lower limit

This isn't really about benefits any more - you have received all the advice we can give you on that subject earlier in the thread.
The NHS has a great page for support with gambling addiction here:
If you need specific help gaining access to your bank statements, the Budgeting & Bank Accounts forum may be able to help.
