Putting up a dartboard board on thin wall

okay I’ll have a look at that. A stud finder should be arriving today which I’d ordered.

Wish it was a bit simpler. Seems a bit extreme all of this just to put a dartboard board board on a wall haha!

It is actually extremely simple! One decent sized screw would be plenty, which means one hole. You don't technically need a stud finder - tapping the wall works. It's a job of a few minutes and no more.

If you mess it up and drill the hole in the wrong place then it's a simple matter to fill it and paint over it.

I wanted to hear that…. But I was told that one screw wouldn’t hold the weight of the board on the plaster board ?

Is it definitely a stud wall and not block with dot and dab plasterboard?

Is nobody going to mention the forces involved in pulling a dart out of the board? I'd want every fixing to be in a stud.

Lots of holes in your plasterboard wall would be ugly too. It's probably a good idea to mount the dartboard on something that can be thrown away when you come to take down the dartboard.

I think it is a stud wall as when I have hung other objects around the house they have been stud - I use my father stud finder then, mine arrives today. I guess if it is dabbed, I won’t be able to do it?

so what you’re saying I could do is get a square piece of mdf, nail/screw that onto the wall, ideally on a stud? Would it have to be?… and then screw the dart board onto the mdf? That way, distributing the weight further along the wall rather than just held on by 1-2 screws
