Scottish Power Saver Slots

New to the Forum but hopefully this will help others. I got caught out!

Scottish power advertise customers there are saver slots where for 8 1hour saver slots you get discounted electricity. Rates can be either 20% or 50% depending on when you chose. However buried well down in the small print it does state that it only relates for the first 2 KWH of any period. After this you pay full price. So with a 27p KWH fixed the maximum you can save is 27P an hour on any 50p Slot (0r 11p on a 20% slot).

The email that confirms the slots applied has a small '2' next to it and the paragraph at the bottom with text does not mention this, it is in the hyper link to terms and conditions.

I realise any savings are good but I think this is not good practice for a well known brand.

Thanks for taking the time to post your experience. It's always useful when people point out the small print that others might otherwise miss.

I agree that the headline discount can sound more generous than it actually is if the 2kWh limit isn't obvious. Hopefully your post will help others make an informed decision before signing up.
