Yes, it's a good idea. You have only one card at the moment and adding a second is not a big deal.0

I've a problem I would like help with! I've recently finished my 0% on purchases on a barclaycard yet still owe an amount. I reapplied for another barclaycard to extend 0% on balance and transfers, received second card today but they won't let me transfer from one barclaycard to another, yet I've done this before! Has anyone any advice as I don't want to pay the interest and can't afford to pay it off in full!0

Credit card companies always exclude balance transfers from their cards or cards they manage for other companies.
I always thought that too. But I just had an offer from Natwest by post which said that they would accept transfers from other group cards, but that this would have to be done by phone. First time I've seen such an offer.0 -
Yes I had done this before and I'm frustrated that I can't move it now and I'm left paying off bill and interest.0

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can reassure me I'm not going mad! A week or so ago I applied for, and was successful in getting, a Barclaycard using the 0% interest on balance transfers for 6 months with no fee.
I've since received the card, activated it and now I see whilst the 0% offer is OK, a 1% fee now applies. Barclaycard deny that my card was fee free for transfers but I'm sure I would not have signed up for it without that as there were other, better, offers than this at the time.
Since I signed up, all the deals seem to have changed both on here and on BCs website so I have no corroborating paperwork to back me up!
Anyone remember or even applied for this card? And will it affect my credit score if I close down this card now and take out another one with a better fee-free option?0 -
Hi, new to this forum and just have a question I hope someone may be able to help with. I want to get some money from a 0% card into my current account. I have other cards with small debts on... question is, if I apply for a new card and transfer more than my debt amount onto the card holding the existing debt (therefore creating a positive balance on the original debt card), can I then close this account and take out the positive balance? would this work as a way to get cash at 0%? has anyone tried with success or otherwise?Mutton_Geoff wrote: »I've been looking at 0% BT cards over the last few days to build up my stooz pots. This is what I've seen on offer:
Capital One 0% 1st November 2008 1.7%
RBS 0% 13 months 2.5% (+£24 Quidco)
Natwest 0% 13 months 2.5% (+£24 Quidco)
Nationwide 0% 10 months 2.5%
Barclaycard Platinum 0% 14 months 2.5%
Post Office 0% 10 months 2.75% (+£20.50 Quidco)
Mint 0% to 1st March 2009 2.9%
Virgin 0% 15 months 2.98%
MNBA 0% 12 months 3% (+£8.50 Quidco)

Hi everyone,
I borrowed money from my dad to go on holiday because I got a new job. Unfortunately the job has temporarily fallen through.
It was recommended as a cheap option that I get a 0% purchases credit card for 16 months and make a transfer of the £800 cash I owe in to my dads bank account as he needs it asap..
Is this right and is there a card I can do this with, without incurring charges?? please help:(0 -
With no income you will be rejected for any mainstream borrowing. Time to get job hunting and have a chat with your Dad about paying him back monthly as much as you can.0
