Hi can you not telephone the company and complete your application over the phone??0 -
Hello everybody. I've been reading this thread but what i don't understand is how you actually physically transfer your debt? Does the new credit card company do it for you or do you have to speak with your old credit card company?
Many thanks
Magic M
The credit card that you apply for asks you for the details of the account you wish to transfer from. Its quite simple - they sort everything out for you.:)0 -

Can anyone confirm this would work?
I have 9k on an MBNA card where the 0% runs out soon and I cant get another card.
MBNA have sent me a letter with a new 12 months 0% offer.
Can I transfer the balance to my wives barclaycard on a 6.9% offer with no fee and then wait a few days and transfer back to my MBNA card with a 3% fee and 12 months interest free?
This should mean that I only pay one 3% fee and then no interest for a further 12 months?
Would the above work?0 -
No reason why it wouldn't work, as long as both card issuers allow balances to be transferred from other people's cards (most do but a few don't)We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Hi all,
I have a BT just ended and am looking for a suitable new one. I already have a Barclaycard, a Tesco and a Natwest card.
My questions are as follows -
1. Does having that Natwest card mean I wouldn't get an RBS card?
2. I did have an MBNA card but paid it off well over a year ago, and closed the account. At what point can you go back and apply for another card? On the same theme - are they the same company as Virgin? So would the earlier MBNA card go against me when applying to Virgin?
3. I have a current and business account with Santander. Also a mortgage. No problems ever. I've noticed they offer a card with a 17 month 0% BT. This doesn't come up on any of the searches on this site or confused.com. Am I more likely to be accepted by Santander as I have a "relationship" with them?
Many thanks!0 -
Considering applying for a 0% balance transfer card and using it to transfer balances from my partners cards. Any pitfalls or tips to look out for?0

I have a 0% interest card that is going to run out in a few months, I still have to pay some off though. How does transferring it without a charge work and when should I do it?0

Hi Paddy,
The days of no charges on balance transfers are long gone. Most issuers now charge a very small percentage, it works out roughly £20 per £1000.
Your best bet is Barclaycard, but if you already have that the Virgin card, at 26 months interest free is very good.0
