Finally got conformation that Virgin have accepted my credit card application and that I will recieve it in the next 7-10 days. Just as a note, i applied 7 days ago, so to anyone else applying, its not always an instant decision. .
Congratulations on getting accepted by Virgin, as we predicted.

Nobody here has told you an instant decision is guaranteed.

Most credit decisions are computerised and Virgin (like most lenders) gives instant decisions and credit limits to online and telephone applicants, provided that your identity, available credit and so on can be verified electronically via the credit reference agencies, which in turn collate data from public records such as the electoral register.

You need to address this, otherwise the same thing will happen, whichever CC provider you apply to.

I want a little bit of advice as to what to do and not to do when the card arrives. I have read a few reviews on the Virgin card where people have had trouble with the payments being on time and losing the interest free offer. Is there an easy way to avoid cocking this up and any important issues to bear in mind?
It might be an idea to set up a direct debit to pay the minimum amount. That way, it's Virgin's responsibility, not yours, to make sure the monthly repayments get there and on time ;)

I finally waved goodbye to my Amex Nectar card. I bt'ed the full outstanding amount to my Leeds CC at a fixed rate of 5.9% for life of BT.
Today I bt'ed the full amount from my MBNA Sony card to the same Leeds CC, but the rate for BT's has increased by 1% to 6.9%. Next week I can write and cancel the MBNA cc. Just leaves my Sainsburys cc (never been used), my M&S cc & my Paypal card to go.

As the Leeds cc is run by Barclaycard, I got the usual sales pitch re :- card protection, but as my spouse & son are off the France for a holiday I decided to take-up the offer.

To help you further, we would need to know which cards - apart from HSBC obviously - you have at the mo or have held recently, also do you bank with another bank?

I have a Mint card (£2K balance) & a M&S More card (£2K balance but low APR for life of balance). Bank with LLoyds TSB - juts cleared my CC with them

To maximise the 0% period, 13 months is currently available to new customers from Halifax on BTs made in the first 90 days. There's a 3% BT fee.
The minimum monthly payment is just 1% of the balance shifted ;)

    Hi All....Everyone should read this!!

I've been getting a 3% per month, tax free, on my savings since September 2009.
The company, Cherries Network.com, has been around since 2004, it taps into the
£400,000,000 per week turnover of the sports trading system.

They are regularly adding new accounts, the latest offers a guaranteed 5% per month return, tax free (there is now a waiting list for this as it's prooved so popular),I think everyone should know about this.....small savers and big investors alike.
It highlights just how stingy the banks are being with our money.

Take a look at- cherries network .com ? affiliate = RichardD (close all gaps)

P.S. We were able to have a Christmas holiday on the Red Sea just on the interest of our savings. We've now put our ISA money into it, it's a no brainer for us.

    Very fishy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
