Morning all,
I am looking to maybe move all my CC's onto one (hopefully) 0% deal (or at least a low %) - see signature to see current CC's, but totally confused as to which one would be good/suitable and won't cause problems due to same underwriters etc.
Bit about me.... In full time employment (32k) and credit rating good bordering on excellent. Major problems with my bank (Lloyds TSB) so no options with them. Moved house in Sept but on electoral roll etc.
Any ideas/recommendations on who to try? Thanks in advance:)
Edit: forgot to say my mortgage is with the Halifax - is that worth a shot?0 -

Halifax would be my choice as you've got an MBNA card already. Full list of 0% cards here http://www.stoozing.com/0fees.php
You don't say what the APR is on the cards in your signature, but makes sense to clear them in APR order.

What card did you apply for? Who do you bank with? Have you applied for anything else apart from the one card you were declined for? What's your income? Has your partner applied for anything recently? What's their income?"A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Helloo

I took out a Halifax credit card 9 months ago and spent £400 on it, i have about £150 left to pay but the interest free period has just ended.
I'm wanting to put £700 car insurance on a card too so am looking into getting a new card and transferring the balance, or getting a new card for the insurance.
If anyone could give me some help?
many thanks, laura0 -

Cheers for the prompt reply cannyjock.
It was a barclaycard gold. My partner is a childminder which is classed as self employed although her credit score is 987 ( don't know how significant that is )0 -
Your available credit is the sum of the credit limits on the credit cards you currently hold, plus any other credit facilities which are reported to the credit reference agencies. That suggests the credit limits on your cards are pretty low. Are they?I have a Virgin CC with £450, a Mint with £380 and a Mint in my partner's name with £1300 on it. Credit scores are at best a very rough guide and not worth paying extra for, tbh. It's easy to be lulled into a false sense of security by these numbers. Then it comes as a shock, when your application is turned down. (Equally, some forum users are put off applying at all, because of low scores.)My partner is a childminder which is classed as self-employed although her credit score is 987 (don't know how significant that is)
That said, credit reports, when ordered directly from Experian are invaluable. The guidance notes that accompanied your Experian report are also a good readPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Experian's credit scores and CC suggestions aren't very reliable - they don't know your income for one thing. Also, when it comes to CC recommendations, don't forget the agency is on lead commissions.Experian recommended a credit card B]Barclaycard Gold[/B, but going through the process my application was declined.
For tips to improve your chances of credit card acceptance, have a look at the *Credit Rating: how it works and how to improve it guide* especially Martin's *Manage and Improve your credit score* article, to make certain there's nothing obvious working against youAny suggestions or pointers?

Hi everyone,
It's that time again for me and DH to transfer our balances. We currently have 2 Virgin credit cards, 1 each. Mine is £3,200 and DH is £3,600. We are looking to apply for the Barclaycard 0% for 15 months.
Do we apply for two separate cards (as it is now) or apply for a joint card and consolidate the debt so it is easier?!? Will we get a credit limit of £7,000?? We have a mortgage and have never had any credit problems. We got married last year so this will be the first thing I apply for in my married name.
Also, I have a pay review in a few weeks. Should I wait for that in case I get a raise or will it not really make a difference?
Thanks! xxxOfficial DFW Member 716 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0
