    Absolutely.

I would make sure the existing transactions are all paid off either by you or courtesy of your balance transfer card. Then, if you always settle your statement balance in full by the payment due date, your shopping will be interest-free and you'll be building a good credit history in the process ;)

May I draw your attention to the one touch "Thanks" button in the bottom right-hand corner of each posting (when you're logged in, that is)?

This lets the OP know you've read their message. It also saves you the trouble of posting a reply, when you're pushed for time ;)

    Cheers

You cannot pay a credit card bill with another credit card. The lender will only accept debit card payments, cash or cheques.

You can transfer a credit card balance to another credit card, but this normally attracts a handling fee of 2-3% of the balance shifted and is classed as a balance transfer, not a purchase transaction.

Just applied for the virgin card, got accepted online.

That will be enough to BT my other two cards over and have no interest for 16 months! Hopefully i can pay them off before the 0% interest is done.

    It's possible.
  • Had an Alliance & Leicester MBNA card which I cancelled in April. Any idea how long I need to wait before I will be likely to be accepted for a Virgin MBNA card?

Just applied for the Play.com credit card as recommended in Martin's email last week.

1.5% handling fee on balance transfers, which is about half the usual fee, and 6 months interest free on balance transfers too. Plus 9 months interest free on spending and £15 cashback on first £150 spent. Great deal.

Oh, and they gave me a ridiculous £18k limit - what's that all about????
