I would hang on to at least one, if not two, for shopping (one each). Whatever else you do, you'll need to keep BTs and purchases on separate cardsPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

I just wondered if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction please? I posted this on the credit rating forum by mistake....
I have a credit card with Capital One and am wanting to transfer this balance to another company (Virgin.....0% for 15 months). The problem is, I think my credit score is 'Good' but I'm not sure if they would accept my application or not. Also, my outstanding balance is £6k......SO, if I am accepted, do I have to ask for a £6k limit or will they just turn me down flat??????????
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated!!PAYDBX17 #29 £760.19/10000 :j0 -

Have you checked your credit reports lately to see what's on there? For help, see page 1 of the *How to obtain credit reports* sticky
For tips to improve your chances of credit card acceptance, have a look at the *Credit Rating: how it works and how to improve it guide*, especially Martin's *Manage and Improve your credit score* article

If the worst happens, Martin's advice is to transfer what you can. (See Martin's *Credit Card Limit: didn't get what you wanted?* article.) You'll still save money

Hi everyone, i am a new contributor and would greatly appreciate any advice you may have. I transferred a balance to Virgin's 0% for 15 months card last year. Until about 2 minutes ago I didn't know about the 'no spending' on BT cards rule!!! It was christmas, i was poor and so I started spending on the card. Now, the money I pay off every month is not paying off what I intend it to - it is paying off the lowest interest purchases first!! So i am being stung and left with the higher % on my balances. What advice does anyone have? Should i get a new BT card and start again? next time keeping my BT and spending cards seperate :mad:0

Yes. Which card is best depends, to some extent, on which cards you have at the mo or have held recently.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
You can still apply for another company ....just be carefull not to apply more than 3 times in 60 days that might lower your credit score ...
Hope you get accepted this time0 -

No, I don't believe so.
