Would it be too late for me to call Tesco and re-instate the application I nearly made?
No experience of this personally, but Tesco has reasonable telephone back-up, so it's worth a phone call to ask.
If you ring Tesco Finance on 0800 505 555, you'll avoid the dreaded 0870/0845 numbers
Very best

Hi
Will applying for my credit score with Experian damage my credit score as well?
thanks0 -

No. Your enquiries about your own files are not seen by the credit card companies. They are interested only in the number of credit checks made by other lenders.
Caution: judging from feedback here, it's easy to be lulled into a false sense of security by credit scores. Then it comes as a shock when your application is turned down. Equally, some posters are put off applying at all, because of low scores.
Credit reports, when ordered directly from Experian or Equifax, are valuable. After all, this is the information lenders search when you apply for credit. Additional services like credit scores are a nice little earner for the credit reference agencies, but of little practical value to cc applicants and certainly not worth paying extra for, IMO.
I wouldn't let these numbers distract you from tackling the things that really matterPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

I wouldn't say so, tbh. MBNA is a pretty efficient operation, IME. 7-10 days sounds about right.
I would ring Customer Services on 0800 9174466 (to avoid the perishing 0845/0870 numbers.) Disregard the prompt for your account number and hold for Customer ServicesPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Got a letter in the post yesterday with 4 cheques attached offering 3.94% until the balance is cleared on any new balance transfers or anything else as i have the cheques. 3% fee on balance trnsfers but still a good offer i think.
Anyone else had this?0 -
Who is sainsburys banking partner. If you had a long term debt, it sounds allright especially if inflation takes off these fixed offers will be golden, check the small print but there is better0

I have just tried to transfer the balance from my old MBNA card ( 0% deals running out) to new Barclaycard Platinum (14 months 0% with2.9% fee) and I thought the easiest way would be online. However at the bottom of the form on this page it says All Balance Transfer applications received online are processed at the existing customer rate advertised.
Does this mean I wouldn't get the same 0% deal?

Not if the advertised rate for BTs is 0%, but Barclaycard reserves the right to refuse a balance transfer altogether or to limit the amount that can be transferred, so I would request your transfer by phone. That way you'll know right away exactly where you stand.
If you ring Barclaycard Card Services on 0800 068 4899 and hold, then select 0 from the menu to speak to an adviser, you'll avoid the overseas call centre and the perishing 0870 numbersPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
