It's definitely an extreme case. The averag3 uk household of 4 does 8-9 washes a week so it's more than double that.

2 full washes of towels and 2 full washes of bedding each week, plus 2 other 'miscellaneous' washes leaves 20 washes of clothes, so each person is generating 5 washer loads of clothes per week? It's certainly possible, but its not normal.

Most care homes/nursing homes use domestic machines.

Buy a make you've heard of with a long guarantee.

Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

30 loads a week (>4 a day) is most definitely a lot of laundry for a household of four people. There are four of us here - two adults and two children in secondary school - and we average about one wash a day.

Our machine would hold a few days' worth of my work shirts, tees for after work, a pair of trousers or shorts, exercise clothes, PJs, underwear, socks and a towel. Maybe 2-3 washes a week. Allow an extra wash for bedding once a week and I'm still only doing half as much laundry as any one of you!

How are you all managing to fill the machine up every day all on your own? Or are you doing a lot of small loads, e.g., because you all like to wash your own stuff separately?

One of the main things we wash is towels. I actually wash about one load of towels a day on average, then we have the darks, and the whites, and the colours. Kitchen towels we wash twice a week, bathmats also get washed once a week, bedding every 2 weeks.

Another thing is we never fill the washer all the way to the top otherwise it doesnt spin dry as well, its always about 75% full

Then in the week my son has his work stuff washed separately after he comes home from work because of the nature of his job (pest control)

What a truly bizarre amount of washing.

Time for a household management rethink??

I have had a Bosch for more years than i remember, it has been very good. But there are only two of us now. Used to be four. I use lower spin speeds, i think it helps with wear and tear. Would certainly have another.

I've got a Which? account and Zanussi and Miele are the top brands for reliability followed by John Lewis and Bosch according to Which? and, of those, John Lewis do a 3 year guarantee.

I am in awe as bedding for four adults (3 king or double beds) is 3 loads a week. Towels should be washed every 2-3 days due to bacteria so that's another 2-4 loads.

That's all without clothes and as the OP said change each day due to heat just for work clothes let alone leisure clothes.

    I don't see 20 loads as excessive.

I guess people have different hygiene and standards so that's entirely up to them 😅

I wonder if those that think it's excessive are the ones on the surveys you hear of when people don't change their bedding all year and don't wash towels 🤣🤣🤢🤮

Be a little careful with HiSense, certainly with the TVs they use the same model name for different models in different countries… I know a few years ago a model in the US was their top of the range offering, was fairly good and very good for the price. In the UK however that model reference referred to their bargain basement offering and it was poor. Lots of people saw reviews of people online saying its great and then were disappointed when they got it. Dont know if they pull the same trick on washers but one to check for.

We've had Bosch, was okish but didnt last that long and as it was only ok we replaced it when it died for a second time. The flat came with a Smeg of an unknown age, we did replace the element which was causing it to trip the electics but it started smoking a few months later so it went to the tip (and the Bosch replaced it).

They are expensive but we went with Miele as at the time we got a discount from them. The washer hasn't missed a beat and I am sure the twindos system is poor value (though you can use your own detergent) but I do value the convenience of it
