I like MSE purely because I'm not being sold stuff or asked anything much about myself. I wouldn't like it to be just a swap shop or a for sale board at all.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. One of the other reasons i posted this was because Martin said on Radio 2 last week that 'Good moneysavers would buy things from the sales to sell at profit on ebay'
That is why i thought it may be a worthwhile idea, not that i would necessarily use it, but that it seems to work elsewhere.
Appreciate your comments - but do take note at the amount of requests for items following good Grabbits and the like. How much ?????????!!!0 -

No-one is asking for just a swap shop or more personal info. the suggestion is for a seperate for sale/wanted thread. How much ?????????!!!0 -

Really? This is post #4 where you said:Thanks guys, just thought i'd ask, like i said on HKUD the idea is that you dont ask for over the odds and very often on the grabbit board people do ask for spares to be sold to them - how about a swapshop?
And then there was post #10 where silkysmooth said:maybe even a swap shop
How would you sell goods or buy goods on this site without making contact (eg obtaining personal information) with members?;)10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. One other thought. This site is really heavily used and sometimes it gets a bit slow for some of us, and that is just carrying the normal traffic. The idea of people seeing that swaps or sales were allowed, even on a dedicated board/thread would kill the speed as everyone would want to try selling something.
I'd rather keep MSE entirely for what we do now and not clutter the bandwidth with adverts. The moment any form of buying/selling/swapping was allowed this site would be swamped with people who do not read the rules and post everywhere.
Many BGs already spend a great deal of time removing spam threads or posts offering sales or swaps where genuine users have just not realised what the rules are. If it was ever known that MSE allowed such posts we would be inundated with posts placed all over the boards.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Again, i was responding to the above of 'asking much about myself' if you go to HKUD you will note that sales are done via PM. There are no advertisers on that site also.
Believe me people, this was just a genuine thought, i haven't anything to sell, but a thought came to mind and i thought i'd ask on this appropriate thread thinking a moderator would respond.
It's amazing the number of MSE people selling on e-bay, all the Boots stuff vouchers and such, that's why i thought there may be some interest selling here.
Ideas are welcomed on MSE aren't they? How much ?????????!!!0 -
