Trace group parking fine Manchester Airport

Hi everyone

So I got a text from trace group saying I’ve an outstanding debt and to call this number

In which I stupidly did and I was asked my name and address before they would tell me anything about it.
it turns out it was from last October when I dropped my daughter at t2 Manchester and I had no idea I had to pay online for a drop off. As the last time I dropped her off there was payment barriers and last October they was gone. So I didn’t think anything about it as I just thought they got rid of the charges as the barrier was gone. So now trace group say I owe £170

I told them I’m not paying and they can take me to court as I didn’t see any signs

I know I know I should not of said anything I totally regret phoning.
so the problem is I moved house I changed my driving license address but didn’t do my log book ( I didn’t know it had to be done) changed it now but I obviously didn’t receive the fine as it must of gone to old address

The question is should I pay the £170 now as I’ve called them now

No, no one should pay airport invoices. Search for Manchester Airport on the parking board and check out the stories there. Also read the newbies thread.

Apcoa don't do court, nobody should be paying, Trace cannot take you to court, do relax and IGNORE THEM

Totally ignore them but the worrying question is: why didn't you get the PCN & reminder? Your V5C address was out of date, I assume?

yes it was still my old address I’ve changed it now

I changed my drivers license address just didn’t know I had to do log book separately

Changing your address on your licence and V5 will not retrospectively change the details which the parking operator has for you. You may wish to update the operator directly with your correct address.

Agree. Email the DPO at APCOA and tell them to ERASE (use that word) your old address and replace with your current address. Important, as should there be any change in APCOA’s attitude to litigation, you don’t want a court claim being pushed through the wrong letterbox!
