Aw, DH and kiddo did pick up some other things in 'ome bargins, but they were all non-food, so not in my GC budget. Unfortunately the store I was in on Friday didn't have any in stock, so I asked DH to look out for some today. But it's super-easy to forget about the bits and pieces you pick up along the way, outside a 'full shop' or delivery, isn't it.

I've just skipped all my July milk deliveries, copying you @Sallyp2 - good idea. Once again the Saturday delivery (3 pints) had soured before the following delivery on Thursday. I won't be buying the milk from the SM though because they now put the "2 pints" in a litre pack, increasing what I am paying for less milk. So I am sticking with the local coop for milk, and I shall price check it from M&S when I collect the summer vests (£5 each) I need to collect on Tuesday. I just know I shall buy stuff in there. Cherries and Strawberries are most likely.
The strawberries that were delivered (free delivery pass) had started to go over (2 days) so I have made a jelly with most and sprinkled the hulled and cut remainder with a little sugar

its sad that we need to pause the milkman, but they deliver very early. I don't know why its changed from being delivered between 5-7am. Costs and efficiency savings by them have led to us reducing our spends!

My first post for the month and it's a big one:
Co-op £6.25, Tesco £35.28 and Asda £133.25.
I had family stay over the weekend so was hosting an extra 3 adults and 2 boys with good appetites. We had a great time and there are leftovers which will feed into this week, which is good when I'm already halfway to my budget on the 6th of the month. I will need some basics like eggs and milk this week but can't see me needing much else at the moment - this is definitely going to be a freezer and cupboard month, particularly with the rapidly approaching school holidays and the need for extra food (DD is still young enough for free school lunches though from Sep we will be on packed lunches which will impact my budget).

various shops totalling £206.18. Lots of fruit/veg/salad including a couple of £1.99 watermelons from Aldi some fresh salmon and 42.74 worth of food/drinks towards bbqs 1 yesterday and 2 Scheduled for the upcoming weekend - we do everyone chips in which seems fairer than 1 person having to fund it all and means you can chose things you actually want but seems like everyone wants to make the most of the predicted heat and so many so close together isn’t great on my budget.
Checking my receipts I was overcharged on several items 😡 most noticeably ds full fat blue lactose free milk in sains still labelled at £1.35 but charged £1.50 15p increase & 2 items at Asda that were labelled as 1/2 price but charged full price and I wouldn’t have brought them if I’d known. Note to self double check prices at point of purchase in future.
