My first spend of the month was at my favourite Community Fridge, which was absolutely brilliant. My £1 donation yielded baby new potatoes, onions, butternut squash, green chillies, fennel, a bag of mixed salad leaves, piccolino cherry tomatoes on the vine, cucumber, avocado, portobello mushrooms, spring onions, cauliflower, carrots, apples, easy peeler satsumas, strawberries, blackberries, a bag of stir fry mix, pak choi, hummus, watermelon, a Pret hoisin duck wrap, a Waitrose chicken sandwich, a loaf of Warburtons sliced brown bread, a pack of wheat tortilla wraps, 6 free range eggs, 8 M&S outdoor bred pork sausages, a large Waitrose ready made lasagne, 6 M&S pork chops, a pack of feta cheese, 1pt semi skimmed milk, a 500ml tub of posh thick Greek yogurt, a pack of thin sliced Wiltshire ham, and a large bouquet of flowers. There may have been more than this, but I’m so hot I can’t think straight 🤣🤣.
Everything has been packed away into the fridge and freezer and I’ll menu plan everything later tonight.
£1/£150 so far, but I will need to get some dog food, butter, milk and bacon later in the week.13 -
Evening… I broke my intention yesterday to not shop until Thursday or Friday. 🙄I went shopping today because my plans changed and I had to meet a new potential client close to town/the high street. Afterward I hit Savers and M & S. Savers was for fly strips so I won’t count those toward the grocery challenge.
£18.13 at M & S this morning for bananas (1.00), strawberries (2.10), garlic (50p), cooked beets (1.20), 1kg Greek yoghurt (2.00), YS 5-ingredient chipolatas (2.68), 6 mixed size eggs (1.30), 2 pints of milk (1.20), mayo (1.40), and coffee beans (4.75).
Total £124.13 / £350 spent. £225.87 remaining.
It’s going to be hot where we are for the rest of the week so I can now stay ensconced in our cool basement apartment instead of venturing out in the afternoon if need be. We’re lucky that it’s at most 20C in the living at the height of the heat during the day. We’ve been able to cool it down to 18.5C usually overnight. This just shows how much I’ve acclimated to living in a cold house. 20C feels insanely warm to me at times now, especially when the humidity is around 80% inside.
Anyway, try to stay cool and hydrated everyone x

Afternoon all,
Yesterday l did a quick run in, run out, to asda. I only needed coleslaw, broccoli and carrots. So that is all l brought 😇.
Although, l think that was more to do with rushing for the school run than actual will power 😂 £1.98 spent but l am going shopping on my way today.

I stopped off in Tesco for a quick shop after my needlefelting group today, and spent £23.36 on cat food sachets (for the dog, he likes the fish ones as a treat, he's odd!), granola, butter, double cream, orange & mango squash, Twinings Everyday teabags, some chocolate mousses as a treat and a bar of Galaxy as an even bigger treat.
July total so far is £24.36/£150

Good evening everyone, Grocery shopping this morning before it got too hot. Lot’s of fruit and vegetables on offer at M*rrisons and I bought everything for my week’s meal plans. I managed to get Y/S milk, a whole large chicken, crumpets for DH and ham and chicken slices for sandwiches and salads. £59.40 spent. I had a voucher for £5.50 off £55 and so I was happy with that.
Made my way to Aldo to pick up my neighbours shopping and bought some Y/S turkey mince and bits and bobs for us. £3.57 spent.
After a trip to the dentist (ouch! ) I visited L*dl to bulk buy our deodorants and my dry shampoo. 15% off coupon resulted in a £7.56 spend.
£70.53 spent this week.
£119.72 to date this month. £170.28 remaining.5 -
Ha, I know you lovely GC'rs will get my "stumped-ness" (I'm being polite) at this. I've been out this evening, and returned home to an unusually 'active' inbox on my email. One of the emails was from Leedle, announcing that I was to "Treat yourself, you've earned £5 off your shop". Whoopee! Thought me - finally I've got one of the 'free' vouchers that everyone has been talking about. And it would make up for the disappointment of the lack of useable vouchers this morning. So I opened the email, and read on………. cheeky blighters were only assuming that I'd want to "spend" the points I've amassed (not really), and blow it on a random £5 off voucher!
They weren't 'giving' me anything, but hinting as to how I should spent my points/money 🙄

I had the same sort of email @Greying_Pilgrim but it was only for a cheese twist! DH was excited until I read on and saw they wanted me to waste my points on one of them!

There I was, about to add £21.48 to this total, when I remembered I had picked up some shorts for my husband out of that. He did a clothes sort to remove clothes that are too big for him and told me just before I went shopping that he had no shorts anymore. I remembered him talking about a waist size, hadn't realised that was his next goal. Luckily, as it turns out, he had reached that goal when he tried the shorts on! 🤸♂️
So, £5.48 added, so far £62.15/£150, leaving £87.85.
Other budget adjusted accordingly.
