Advise please on tiling in bathroom

Interesting. I’m surprised the silicone would fail like that over grout in the corners, but they’re the experts.

You certainly shouldn’t grout against the bath, architrave or the plastics like windows, which expand and contract.

Hi All,

So a bit to add for advise what to do. I had a great plumber come and quote I accepted his quote and he has done 50% of his job; he asked me if I needed a tiler and I said I had one lined up but if he could recommend one and they could work together that would be great.

the plumber then measured up for the tiling for the bathroom and kitchen the plumber then told me the cost for the tiling and I agreed and the plumber then arranged for the tiler to come (I never met the tiler until the day he turned up, and to this day I don’t even have the tilers number).

the tiles were fitted 6 weeks ago I completed in the bathroom (the kitchen tiling has not been done yet) I explained I wasn’t happy with the work and asked for the issues to be addressed (the plumber agrees it not right) 6 weeks later the tiler still not been out to fix the bathroom issues and we arranged twice for the tiler to come and twice he didn’t show up and didn’t even call to say he wasn’t coming.

I have asked the plumber to fix the tiling and do the tiling in the kitchen, as for years he used to do tiling and he said know as he didn’t want “to fix the tilers mess”

What are my rights now, as the plumber told me to pay the tiler 80% of cost for the bathroom and kitchen and only the bathroom has been done nothing in the kitchen and only a small pot of money left out the quoted amounts.

I left paying, service charges, council tax and other bills and have a property that there no working bathroom as the plumber wanted the tiling done before he finishes.
