What did you do with the 1st postage label? If it is "buyer pays" the buyer may receive a refund of postage automatically if the label isn't used, however how have you marked the item as despatched? You could try to add the tracking number for the 2nd label but there is a very limited window before ebay identifies it as a tracking number which has already been used. Currently you have no proof that you have sent the items together.

I sold 2 items to the same buyer on 2 different listings - item A and Item B
Ebay issued 2 labels - Label for item A and a Label for item B
In the package with the label for item A on - I enclosed both item A and Item B ( to combine p+p as requested)

However, on my sellers hub I couldn't add a tracking number to the item B sale or mark it as dispatched
I was left with an active label for item B

I sent another package with the label for item B on and enclosed a spare item B that I had

Each item has ben sent with their correct postage labels - I couldn't give the buyer a refund for his £2.72 for p&p but he has an additional item worth far more than that and, as a trader, could easily sell it on.

I didn't want to be left with a late postage or failure to post from Ebay
That's the best I could come up with.
I hope the solution is satisfactory for him

Thank you confirming this was a SD, in that case the order couldn’t be combined and you should have just used label A for item A and label B for item B. A buyer asking for combined postage doesn’t mean they necessarily wanted them in the same parcel just that they wanted a p and p reduction, which is not something you as the seller could do. There was no need to complicate matters by sending something g random using parcel B , in fact a dodgy buyer could now open an SNAD claim showing parcel B didn’t contain what they bought, however admittedly that is unlikely.

when I get a similar enquiry I just apologise to the buyer and explain that the item was sold as simple delivery and therefore I as the seller do t get any of the postage, all that is handled by eBay and unfortunately it means that combined p and p is not possible.

When did the buyer pay? Not really sure why they would want an extra (duplicate) item but rather than send another item couldn't you have given a partial.refund on the item price?

Both parcels do actually.contain the item purchased, however parcel.1 also contains an extra item B. The only risk is if the buyer fraudulently claims they have received two items B and no item A.

    Yep, it's a muddle….
I over thought everything and then realised that life it too short to fret over something that might not happen.

I haven't done Ebay since lockdown and things have changed on the platform -
I had no idea that I could no longer combine items and charge my own postage…

I'm sure he won't be disappointed with getting 2 item B's as I'm sure he was buying to sell on anyway

I've done my best to please him and that's all I can do.
