if they were simple delivery then yes two labels must be sent. However, if this was a custom postage then even though it’s 2 transaction postage can still be combined easily. Pack items together, get tracking number on parcel and add it to both sales, tell buyer via eBay messages that items are in same package then use the refund button to refund part of both lots of postage. My explanation is more complicated than the actual process. However this ONLY works for custom postage.

Yep that’s correct, it seems to be in force on about 90% of my SD sales, I’ve actually had a small number of combined sales under SD.

    Re your first sentence:

I've listed items for 'simple delivery', had the same buyer buy 2 items and the system generates one single label.

So I'm very confused by your post. 🤔😵‍💫

I couldn't sort it at all and decided that life is too short to fuss over trying to save a buyer £2.72.
I printed off the 2nd postage label and sent off a duplicate item in that package.
Hopefully that will satisfy - he is a trader so can easily sell on the duplicate and it's value is far more than £2.72

Thanks for all the messages and suggestions- it was all a bit too much - and made me remember why I stopped selling on ebay.

Ebay's system is quite capable of putting more than one item in an order. The question comes with how big a gap there is between the buyer committing to buy each item, and whether eBay can add an item to an.order once the first order has been paid for and a label generated.

As the OP said the buyer asked for an invoice for combined postage, it sounds like no payment had been made.

If the items have already been bought and 2 labels generated then both labels need to be used. If buyer has 2 items in their basket and both are SD then eBay will usually combine them and issue one label. However once a SD purchase has been made seller can’t change anything.

Like you I’ve had SD multi purchases and one label, but I didn’t think that’s what OP was asking.

Did the OP say 2 labels had been generated?

I thought the issue was how to generate a combined invoice which apparently wasn't possible because the sales were best offers.

    Unfair in my opinion.

AFAIK the buyer has simply requested an invoice and not paid yet. It may well be that if the buyer goes to pay the situation will resolve itself, or it may not be SD at all.

As per my earlier reply. If these are SD items r gen buyer cant send an invoice, combined or otherwise, only eBay can. If its custom postage then again as suggested they can combine or refund the difference and use the custom printed label and associated tracking number for both items.

Since a few posts up OP says labels have been printed, it suggests buyer has paid.
