A wonderful cool breeze here this morning! I've already made my bed and tidied my desk, and the laundry I hung up in the bathroom overnight is already dry 😀

No washing today but I did dust and vacuum the whole house, upstairs was far too hot last week. Did a roast dinner and there's enough chicken left for tomorrow. Lots more deadheading in the garden, then watering. I took one plant out because it was being a thug and put in another that I grew from a cutting. Watered it well. It's got two chances. I have two more if that one doesn't make it.

Tried reading in the garden but neighbour's mother was having a conversation on speaker phone in the garden. Why? Gave up and came indoors.

Well I have had a busy and exciting week end. Having been invited to my Uncle's 80th in Kent I decided, as I am sure I have mentioned, to travel there by train. Fortuitously I booked cheap tickets whick avoided the Midland main line. So I was going via Tamworth and returning via Grantham. Gets to Tamworth, connecting train to Euston, and the one following, cancelled due to heat. Wasn't the only person affected - we were told to go to Birmingham - we will gloss over the fact that the train I had exited at Tamworth had been going to Birmingham, anyway, got to New Street and got an almost-empty train to Euston, tube to Charing Cross and train boarded to tiny Kent town - hotfooted it by taxi) to guest house, changed, taxi to cousins to the shock of my family and uncle who realised just how far I had travelled. Lovely party. Journey home all trains on time, though I did catch a couple of earlier ones, this time travelled to London Bridge, then St Pancras the walk (it's not far) to Kings Cross and train to Grantham then train home.

Did change the bed before I left so I am showered (again) and on the bed. Fans blowing - it's cooler but too warm for sheets.
