Well done with slinkiness Valli.
Definitely too darn hot here; it was 37degrees in the car as I left work and still 30 when I left zumba at 8.30.
- did one load of washing, Mr N hung it out and brought it in, put away.
- did aqua aerobics. Tempted to stay in the pool all day.
- but went to work. got my usual Wednesday C0st@ on the way but didn't feel like lunch so had a satsuma and a pear. Kind students were visiting the offices with iced lime + mint, which revived us a bit.
- did some drumming practice and got hot.
- went to zumba.
- started sorting out car documents. I've got the important MOT cert, log book and service record book to hand but have a pile of miscellaneous paper e.g. original receipt for car; probably every service invoice and details for 9yrs, ditto insurance.
- checked new insurance document but must check again tomorrow directly against current one.
- added a few more things to my list.
- Mr N had a 'long chat' with utilities company. We are now able to read our not-quite-functioning Smartmeter. Not sure when they are going to connect it properly. He also exchanged emails with another person from the same company about tariffs. We're beginning to understand it all……

Morning all. It's already almost twot for me again.
I thought I had done a lot of nothing yesterday, but looking back I realise that I actually
- S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom
- hoovered up the lavender seeds from the LR floor and carried on hoovering through downstairs
- made a small batch of scones and Twinks so that I had something to offer J the gardener (and have enough left for ourselves for the rest of the week)
- put together salad for lunch
- did a few bits of admin - nothing spectacular, but every little helps, and my list is now more manageable
- kept J supplied with 1/2 pint mugs of squash and the above edibles while he mowed the lawn and trimmed back rampant shrubs in the shade
- had a late siesta
- at DH's request, put together more salad for tea
- watered all the pots once the sun had gone down - the bedding plants are all doing very well
- showered before bed, and slept considerably better than the previous night
Today I must unpack and put away my bag of craft activities which I retrieved from church on Tuesday. And I must give Rosie a good brush. Having come over from Romania when about 5yo, she tolerates the heat far better than either of us, frequently taking herself out onto the decking to sunbathe for short periods, but she's moulting a lot!
I've already made my bed 😉🤣
Keep calm and keep hydrated xxx

Yesterday I managed to recycle bags and pods at Morrisons and picked up some shopping. Two loads of washing done, downstairs hoovered and dinner cooked/washed up. Watered the plants and then finished a chapter of my book.
Today so far:
- DW set to run at 4 am - now emptied.
- DW running empty with a cup of white vinegar (I've got some bicarb to run a short cycle after).
To do:
- Check the wood glue situation - I need to add another layer to the edge of the bird table to stop the starlings throwing the food off of it.
- Call into Boots for my click and collect order
- Clothes shopping - socks and tops
- Asda for a few food items.
- M&S for a couple of bits
- Morrisons for some biscuits - are they the only shop that sells McVities Bourbons?
- Coffee with family somewhere in the middle of that
- Collapse in a hot heap with a book (inside not outside like yesterday and which was too hot)
- Water garden and cut back some of the wild flowers that are crowding the california poppy seedlings

Hello all. Just dailies here today, walked Poppet at 5.30, watered plants, one wash load and hoovered through. I can keep cool at my desk so I'm actually looking forward to getting back to paid stuff after lunch, but much too hot now to do any more flying.

SD taken to hospital; a slight increase in the size of his tumour; so it's now graded 2 (of 5 with 5 being the worst) and, given his age, the consultant suggested no treatment but to continue the monitoring. We'd got there early, lots of parking, got into clininc early, were seen early and out within the 30 minutes free parking!
Bravely popped into town to bank and then a couple of shops. Hot though - stayed in the shade as much as possible.
Washing on the line - it'll be dry now, I expect

Not a brilliant start to the day to hear that my eldest stepsister passed in the night; she'd been struggling with health for a few years so hopefully is at peace.
- went to aqua zumba
- pruned some shrubs so the new car doesn't get too alarmed
- finished sorting out paperwork for nearly-ex car
- went to drumming lesson
- watered greenhouse
- gathered data for EoN who are still trying to decide on the best tariff for us and still haven't sorted the Smartmeter - we can read it but they can't……
Not a great deal else really.

Morning. Sorry to hear your new Narco.
I'm doing extra hours at work today but so far have walked Poppet, done dailies and checked banking as it's payday.
Have a great day everyone.

Condolences Narco; may she rest in peace.
woken early by 'noises'…a thunderstorm with heavy rain. Stuck my head out of the window to enjoy the freshness. That rain was needed and everything should have had a good wetting.
