Closed mine in branch today as I was passing anyway. The account was off my app screen by the time I got home.

Still no wiser as to what the problem was, of course. Such is the way of these things.

    Complete pain in the !!!!!!...

Sandi ignored my request, after 10 working days I asked to speak to a Human. Customer services came on to say I had to clear the balance out first 🤦

Did that and it was closed within the hour. New Edge Saver opened and funded same day.

Annoying bit is you lose all of saved accounts for transfers. I used one of my Edge Savers to feed my RSs.

If you want the 6% you have to live with the downsides, nothing is perfect in life except perhaps the increase in value of my Space X shares 😁😁

No success with Santander "pay in a cheque" via app on mobile, photos still rejected in good daylight. Technology is great when it works. Instead of a trip into town to a Santander branch, I have opted for handing in a paying in envelope (containing paying in slip and cheque) to my nearby local post office.

Seems that the best plan is - as soon as you get a warning that your 12 month 6% interest is ending, empty Edge Saver, phone up to close ES making sure any outstanding interest is paid to your current account and not by cheque, and as soon as old ES disappears open new one and refund.

Santander’s your only current account? Recently when Lloyds’ app refused to accept the scan of a cheque I found Barclays accepted it first try.
