Has anyone tried to close an Edge Saver recently using the online chat? I requested mine to be closed on the 1st of June and Sandi said it would be done within 5 working days but it is still there.

In my experience it takes the full 5 working days to close.

Mine took 9 calendar days to close, but it was over the Easter holiday period, so excluding the 4 days for the long weekend, it was exactly 5 working days.

If you've waited for over 2 weeks, it looks like something has gone wrong. You'll probably need to call them.

Thanks for your reply. I have closed a few of them in the past and they have usually been completed within the 5 working days as you said, so not too sure what's happening. I will give it a couple of more days before ringing them.

Yeah, I closed one through chat on the 3rd of June and it's still sitting there empty. Last time (April '25) it disappeared within two days. Dunno what's up.

Yes, me too - been trying since end of May to close it. Both online and in the app.

I wonder if putting money back into the account would flag something up, or if the closure just hasn't registered at all?

Has anyone closed the account with funds remaining to be transferred, rather than emptying it manually first?

Same here, been waiting 7 working days.

If nothing by tomorrow I'll try requesting closure again.

I emptied mine, closed via sandi, waited 5 days and nothing happened. Had to call up and it was removed the next day. Pumped £4k back in and at least the 6% interest rate has been applied hopefully for another year.

If you are closing it only to then open a new one for another 12 months you can 'upgrade' it instead which achieves the same goal
