Morning all xx
Well, there's a first! I looked for today's list. Well yes, that is a first, but then I'm absurdly pleased to find that today it's the bathroom 😊 Having washed the bath mats yesterday I'm wanting to 'do something' in there before I replace said mats.
Conscious of wound care I plan to
- Clean the washbasin
- Clean the floor
- Clean the toilet and cistern
If I can carry on like this I'll be blinding you all with my halo shining by the end of the week 😉🤣
👋 to SandyShores
Love to all.

Morning,
Well yesterday we did my parents shopping but when we dropped it for we ended up having a massive argument with them. Basically because they think we are handymen and can do everything! We were expected to put together a compost bin and was some poorly made tat that they'd brought from some junk mail magazine that was sent to my dad. Of course it was our fault when it wouldn't go together! In the end DD2 managed to false it together but the lid wouldn't fit, still her fault.
I admit we did moan as he didn't need it as he already has 2 which he doesn't use! Any garden waste (grass cuttings and bits from the pots he grows his beans in) goes in the green recycle bin.
The problem is he looks through these crap magazines like a kid with the argos book at Christmas and needs to buy everything and instead of saying no my mum, who has to order and pay (joint account, his money) just does it "to keep the peace". Then wonders why they don't have money for house repairs. The amount of money he wastes!
Anyway because of all this DD2 then decided she wasn't in the mood to help me with the charity stuff and garden so went home.
THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME MOAN.
After all that I ended up doing bits in the kitchen. Wiped the sides, appliances and microwave. Cleaned and reorganised the fridge after buying reduced fresh bits while doing their shopping. I gathered up bits to go back in the junk drawer which is still tidy. Swept the floor and cleaned the cats sticky food patches. I also reorganised my meal plan to incorporate the fresh bits.
This morning I've filled and put on the DW and have cleaned the bathroom.
I need to put the cat bedding on to wash, which I hate because of all the hair. Then I can put the washing machine on a clean cycle.
I also have to go back to my parents to drop of a birthday card from their shopping I forgot to give her and pick up my knitting she had to fix for me again.
Then it's off to meet DD2 before the job centre.

ah Wendywitch I feel your pain. SD, who won't pay for a TV licence because it's 'too expensive' and is FOREVER banging on about the cost of everything, buys allsorts from ebay, shien and t3mu. He bought his catflap from ebay instead of getting it directly from the makers. I am dreading having to clear the house eventually.
Coach trip on Thursday has been cancelled. So we are looking at something closer to home…I think we have a plan.
WUALTD. Washing on the line.
I can't get hold of stepdad. Might have to pop up and check on him.

ah those pesky catalogues that come with the newspapers. My dad frequently finds some must have item that will help restore his 98 year old self back to the ability level of a man half his age 🤷♀️. This week it's slippers that are so comfortable that he will be skipping round the house like a spring lamb with a zimmer frame. Last month it was a "magic" pillow that would help him sleep and I expect a miracle mattress topper will be next.

Sounds like my roommate G. Apparently tmu is having a specially sale and he has to buy everything. Keeps watching the shopping channel - now has 12 hats, a violin (he doesn't play), 2 guitars, a piano keyboard, a sewing machine, 3 cuckoo clocks, several watches, multiple suits, 8 new pair of shoes, as well as miscellaneous junk. It is filling up his room. But he can't pay his bills. He doesn't go out anywhere and doesn't use anything but the one guitar (which he uses at 3 in the morning).

Morning all. One washload done and draped over the airer. We've had rain on and off all morning. Dusted, polished and vacuumed downstairs, up the stairs, and the bedrooms. Bathroom/toilet cleaned. Kitchen floor washed. I'm done.
Hope everyone's OK x

Yesterday I did WM x6 !!!
I went to M€rry H€11 and managed to get a few bits for DGS1's "silly" 18th present:
- a birthday card that says "18 amazing years of you!" in which I have stuck a photo of me holding him when he was just a few hours old 😍
- a mug that says "I can't adult today"
- post-it notes
- soap (single bar in a box) - the brand that my father liked
- notebook, eraser, mini ruler, pencil sharpener - to which I will add a pencil from my SABLE
- black gel pen for signing things that require black ink
- a mini caterpillar-shaped cake from Emm'n'Ess - DD will also have a full-sized coffee cake to carry home for the whole family to share
- I also need to put in a small coin of the realm.
Unfortunately there were no suitable (genuinely funny) socks in his size, and the handkerchiefs (only available in sets) and compass would have taken my total spend above my limit - but I'll bear those in mind for DGS2 in 18 months' time.
I have flown off-piste this morning: some catching up (mopped the kitchen floor, finally cleared my desk and filed all the loose papers), FUPA clean washing, booked a hair appointment, sent a message to friend M to ask if we could meet earlier than originally planned on Friday as F (mother of my littlest godchildren) has mucked up the late afternoon visit there and wants me earlier 😐️. L has walked Rosie, who is now fast asleep beside me (until I move). I've also been thinking about the craft activities for the children's group on Sunday: two ideas have been firmed up but I must decide on a third and then make up the packs of materials.
Best get on then! Will see you later xxx

Thank you for the LR list today - that gave me a day off as it is knee deep in plaster dust! Obviously no point in attempting the hall as it will only get dusty again too 🙄. I did wm x 1, I am obviously nowhere near Iona’s league. It had to dry indoors due to said plaster dust being mixed outside. I met up with a friend at a midway NT house and garden and we had a lovely catch up as we don’t get together that often. I added a few thousand steps to my slinky campaign and also managed to avoid the cake. Cheese scone not avoided though. Veggie curry for dinner/ tea, so I had better at least think about prepping that.

DH and I did a 15 minute combined cleaning and tidying effort this morning.
He did the hoovering and cleaned the bathroom. I changed the bedlinen, put the washing away and emptied the dishwasher.
All done by 9,30 which encouraged us to fill up our flasks and go for a walk at a local beauty spot. We then did a 10 minute burst of garden work.
I'm pleased with our efforts today.
