Bold, italic etc

One of the things The only thing I found useful about the new editor was that if you wanted to change text to bold or italic etc all you needed to do was to highlight the text you wanted to change and a little "box" would appear next to the highlighted text from which you could choose bold or italic or whatever.

That useful feature now seems to have disappeared and you now have to highlight the relevant text and then go all the way back to the top of the comment box to select bold or italic etc.

Or am I doing it wrong?
