Glad you're doing ok Round.
Lots of very heavy rain here all week, I'm going to have to freeze a lot of spinach as I seem to have emptied in an entire seed packet and it's all growing madly.
Yesterday I had a good fly round the kitchen including mopping the floor. In the afternoon we went up to Richmond to meet stepbrother and SIL for a Persian meal followed by theatre (Maureen Lipman in Allegra). SIL reminded me of a performance I'd seen advertised while on holiday that, when thought about, would be a perfect addition to Mr N's 75th celebration. We'd planned a couple of nights in London and already booked one show, so tried for the other one. Very time-consuming as it isn't on for long (Carlos Acosta, for those who like dance) and we ended up spending more on tickets than planned so just as well we can live off spinach for a few weeks…….
Today was raining again.
- went to aqua zumba
- shortlisted some hotels for Mr N's birthday, amidst copious consultations with Blue Light Card, Topcashback and a range of attempts at finding the cheapest bookings.
- went to drumming lesson
- went to building society to get last P60s I need for my tax return. Closed one account in preparation for car buying.
- emailed Godmother in the Cotswolds as we will be joining some biker friends for a couple of days in July and it would be nice to meet up with her.
- Mr N did some flying in the spare bedroom and bathroom as BIL is arriving on Sunday for a few days.
- I was just going to type that I've mislaid my to-do notepad then I just found it. Of course my desk is littered with notes as I haven't been using the pad……..however I think I'm up to date with a lot of life admin now.
Tomorrow I'm booked in for Pilates and aqua aerobics as well as a new 'freestyle dance' which is sadly replacing zumba. In the afternoon we plan to go to the car dealer and hopefully make a decision eek, then home via Mr A so I need to give some thought to meals for the next few days as we've got a fairly social weekend, starting on Saturday with a picnic (rain permitting) at my voluntary work so I need some food for that, then prepare for BIL.

Morning all
Another wet one unfprtunately. Off out tonight to watch/hear a communty choir sing summer songs.
I've done the ironing and put the board away so that's a good start.
Hope you're feeling even better Round.

Hello. Hope everyone is doing ok.
Today I have done paid stuff, dailies, checked banking, walked Poppet and changed bedding. Raining here too so it will be washed tomorrow.

(Just) good afternoon all.
Hope your visit to the surgery today goes well and leaves you more comfortable, round xx
I have S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom, moved money around and paid J the gardener and L the dog walker, emptied the kitchen bin, started WMx1 as my fleecy jacket needed a wash, thrown away the final six now-empty photo albums plus a huge handful of unwanted snaps, started grooming Rosie but she decided she'd had enough so left me with a big handful of fluff to throw away, pulled a few big weeds out of the front garden and harvested some alpine strawberries. Late last night I also managed to rearrange my visit my youngest godchildren for next Friday - now I must text another friend so that we can meet up for lunch the same day in the same area, saving me travel time and petrol money.
I'm going to do some family history research before lunch. DH is going into town this afternoon so I will have a quiet hour or two to myself. Rosie is tired after a long walk with L this morning.
For anyone interested, our local rock houses will be featured on "Treasures of the National Trust" this evening (BBC2 9.00pm) - they were still occupied until the 1960s. For the occupants, flying would have consisted mainly of evicting spiders, cleaning the fireplace ranges, bringing in water from the well, and whitewashing all the interior walls once a year. Come to think of it, that's hardly any different from my own flying childhood - no wonder my children say I lived in the age of the dinosaurs! I found a photo of me in 1994 with (a statue of) one of my relatives, probably taken at Alton Towers…

Hallooooo
I'm being sensible. It does not come naturally 🤪
H is taking me to the Surgery this afternoon to have my clips removed. Then I have to be super careful until the wound heals the hospital nurse said.
I have my own nurse here 😍

WHOA WHOA WHAT? 'a statue of one of my relatives'??? and no more information???
Been on errands; got my sack of bunny food, stuff from Mr L then off to Mr M for what they don't sell. Managed to find a dry breezy window of time so swimming stuff has been pegged out. Now I'm going to go to Outmoving Cancer

They didn't remove the clips. Not quite there yet. So I'm going back on Wednesday. However the wound is healing well and there's no sign of infection. So that's good news.

Sorry the clips are still in Round, but I love your nurse!
Wot Valli said - who's the relative? I think we should be told.
Flying - washing up etc, and a load of laundry at last which is now pegged out. Should be dryish by the morning.
Went on my extended walk / hike this afternoon and managed nearly seven miles by the time I'd finished and checked the pedometer on the phone. Pleased with that. I've decided that by the beginning of next May I need to be able to walk to Tavistock from the house on Cycle Route 27, which is 20 miles. If i can do that I'm pretty sure I can do Hadrian's Wall.
Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.8 -
Good news Round and love your nurse.
- one load through DW
- greenhouse watered
- jungle of spinach inspected. Definitely need to harvest some in the next couple of days.
- did Pilates and aqua aerobics.
- eek. Electric car has been ordered. Having been unable to see in real life what I suspected might be my favourite of the fairly poor selection of colours, we'd mentally chosen another just to be safe. Walked into showroom and they had one in. Both our jaws dropped and there was a chorus of 'oh yes'. Saw a different salesman than last time (he was on hols) and must say I preferred him. After going through my sheet of questions, lots of consulting with his manager, checking my car for valuation, we agreed a price (I'm not going to say a deal cos it sounds like Donald T…..). Trembled my way back to the car and headed for the gym, ringing a friend on the way to see if Mr N could visit while I was at dance as the whole afternoon had taken forever. Stood in dance studio and was bemused to see ladies assembling weights and mats. Queried it and found that my class was an hour later than I'd expected - I'd assumed it had replaced zumba so would be the same time. Pea brain. I didn't feel like adding Body Pump as well as dance to the 2 classes I'd already done, plus didn't think Mr N would want to impose on his friend for so long, so I cancelled the class and collected him.
- Went to Mr T.
- As I'd already made the finances groan, I repeated the searches using every discount I could find, and we're now booked for Mr N's birthday trip. And insured.
- Cooked myself a couple of sausages for tomorrow's picnic. Will make lentil brownies tomorrow then they will last for the weekend with BIL.
I'm not sure all of this counted as flying, but I've certainly decluttered more money than I want to think about. Will not get sad when my car goes to new home…..it's only a car. Sniff.
