Thanks everyone
I don’t feel like such a grouch now 😂.
I think in future, I’ll be more firm and say that we’ll host if no one else will, but that we’ll leave guests to contribute puds and drinks.DH was annoyed with himself that he got guilt tripped into it. He found the alcohol thing funny and has said tonight that he thinks we shouldn’t host again until Christmas (I’ll have finished treatment by then).

Think I might be tempted to host before Christmas to establish a pattern of who’s bringing whatever before festive events. Justin case someone thinks now you’ve finished treatment you will do everything as usual!

I’ll definitely be much firmer moving forward, stuff I used to tolerate in the past will not be happening.
Unexpected expense yesterday, we couldn’t get in our front door 😮 Lock was completely jammed, emergency locksmith and new lock was £200. Annoying. To be fair, it had been playing up since the hot weather, but we assumed it was the heat causing it. We upgraded to a smart lock… the kids are always forgetting their keys, but they’d never forget their phones 😂

I saw my oncologist yesterday, he’s very happy with everything.
He gave me a fit note so I can start doing the admin component of my job, but he was very firm on it. No patient interaction, only to work with adaptations, minimal hours etc. so it means I only need to do what I feel capable off.
I start next week, 10 hours from home.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
