Plusnet move my broadband and home phone package to EE

iniltous - You seem to have a rather negative view of my posts - All I was asking was if Plusnet wanted to move me to EE was this sufficient to allow a penalty free move to another ISP? I agree that whatever course I take it will involve a new router.

I don't think I was suggesting the landline was more important, I was just expecting to remain with Plusnet until next year.

Just seen this post. The consensus I received in relation to my mum's position was that it was not a sufficient change in the contract to enable leaving penalty-free, as others have also indicated. That's because the duration and costs were remaining the same, with the umbrella provider also not changing.

This. I must be on my fifth+ router with the same SSID and password. The odd device has tripped up on changing but no more so than the odd device refusing to connect for no reason as they sometimes do.

At my home new router details when changing provider at each minimum term. Router password card on mantelpiece for when family visit, though now also use the QR code share method here and elsewhere since I was shown this in a pub

In phone's network settings, click on the router, and there's a share button that puts QR code on screen. I discovered some friends who also didn't know this.

Some routers have the QR code printed on a label anyway

I have just changed from Plusnet to EE to keep my landline. My iPhone and iPad are fine but internet keeps dropping out repeatedly on my laptop and I have not yet managed to reconnect my printer. Not happy.

if you had changed provider to someone other than EE , you would have still needed a different router from that other ISP and almost certainly would have the same intermittent laptop and printer issues , so would have been equally unhappy ,
