How many regular savers do you have? - The League Table

Welcome to this thread.

This thread is intended to run alongside and complement the existing Top Regular Savers Discussion Thread and the Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT*** threads as a successor to the previous Being nosey... How many Regular Saver accounts do you have? thread.

The central feature of this thread is the League Table, maintained by Bobblehat, which appears on post 1 of this thread. People may post on this thread, however it should be limited to:

  • People reporting their updated figures to be included in the league table
  • Feedback and comments on the league table itself

Discussion about regular savers, your ``regular saver strategy" and reasons for having your regular savers are to fall under the scope of the Top Regular Savers Discussion Thread only.

The League table includes the following figures, you can choose to supply as many of these as you wish, to have your own figures included in the league table, please make a post in this thread and Bobblehat shall add you in at the next update.

Heading

Description

Solo

The total number of RSs you have.

inc Other

If you have a partner, this is the total number of regular savers you have between you.

per Month

The total amount you pay into all of your RSs per month.

Current Value

The total amount you currently have across all of your RSs.

Annual Return

How much interest you get from all of your RSs over the course of a year.

Weighted Average %

The average interest rate per pound of your RSs (see below for how to calculate it)

Min % for new RS

The minimum interest rate a regular saver would need to be for you to open it.

The easiest way to calculate your weighted average percentage is to use a spreadsheet and use the steps below:

  1. For each of your regular savers list the total amount you currently have in the regular saver and the interest rate it is earning, then multiply these two numbers. For instance if you had £600 in a regular saver earning 7%, you would multiply 600 by 0.07 to give 42, if you had £300 in a regular saver earning 8%, you'd get 24.
  2. Sum your answers for step 1, so for the two regular savers listed above, the sum would be 66
  3. Sum the total amount you have saved in all of your regular savers, so in the example above this would be £900
  4. Divide your answer from step 2 by your answer in step 3 and convert this into a percentage to give your weighted average. In this example it would be 66/900 = 0.0733 = 7.33%.

The League Table is updated periodically and sent to me to be added to the post below. If you wish to update your figures, please make a post in this thread and they shall feature in the next update. If you no longer wish to be in the league table, you are free to post in this thread at any point asking to be removed and you shall be removed in the next update.
