Magnesium is good for sleep problems and I think it also helps with brain clarity. I have to be careful with supplements - ones in gelatine capsules make me ill. I have found a company that does tiny pressed pills for the Vitamin D and the turmeric and black pepper (for joints and arthritis). I have their magnesium but don't take them often because I don't want to sleep all the time. Then I found you can buy magnesium oil and it's absorbed through the skin. I have very dry skin anyway so it's useful and because it's in a bottle with a pump I can drizzle it on my feet at the end of the day and wrap them in an old towel. I don't get it on my hands so I don't need to go and wash afterwards (which would mean getting my feet mucky again) and I'm not worried about getting it on my CPAP mask.
I was hoping to do some chair based exercise but they want me to have the neurology consult first. I'm just adding extra bits as and when I can. I was going to exercise class until the pandemic but that service is no longer available but I'll incorporate some of those exercises as appropriate (press ups against the wall, something called 'cherry picking' where you imagine standing in front of a tree and you pick the fruit reaching for the highest and lowest that you can comfortably manage) I have done 'squats' holding onto the sink and do side taps and ront and back taps when I'm on the bus (I used to do them standing up whilst waiting for buses).

Do you go to adult day centres? My neighbours daughter teaches chair yoga at one twice week and its free and well attended. Council might even pick you up / free lift

I think I'd have the same problem - preliminary health questions would bring up the neurology consult. I have done chair based exercise before, they were running a session at the place I did crafts and I persuaded my mum to come. It did help her with standing rom a chair (nose to toes). I can do some things myself and just stop when I go dizzy.

I slept quite well. I had to put ibuprofen gel on my knees at one point and needed a snack at another point. I was very grateful that DS3 came down and put the blue bin out without being asked (he complains if I remind him and says it's my fault if I don't remind him and he forgets). He even noticed the small pile of cardboard I'd accumulated since my last paper bag went out, picked it all up and took it out to the bin with him. The chinchillas' wheel still needs attention.
Still wobbly this morning and tearful and runny eyes (both hayfever). It rained heavily overnight. Strategy is to start slowly, limit time outside and work on catching up on maintenance (washing up, put washing on the line) and thinking a couple of things through (maybe do some paperwork). There are some things which involve heavy lifting (more precisely medium lifting repeated multiple times) so may need to be done over several days - hopefully without making things worse when I have to stop to rest.
I'm thinking through a garden layout solution balancing cost/ permanence and practicality. One solution would be 2 x 6 foot long heavy-duty plastic tables (fairly cheap but I don't like buying plastic) and ranging all my existing pots on top (all easy to access and work on either standing or sitting). Easy to dismantle if I work out a better solution or add an extension to the house and the tables would probably be easy to pass on via marketplace if I no longer needed them. I'd love all wooden containers raised up or decking boards between incinerator bins to hold the pots but that's expensive.
Grateful for new drama series, my book (nearly finished) and rain overnight but none now.

@mothernerd I think a lot of plastic garden furniture might be made from recycled plastic. This way you might still be able to have your tables without feeling bad about it. :)

hello turtles
Gratitudes today
Free chocolate from Morrisons as my birthday week (am saving the free slice of cake and a ginger biscuit for another day haha)
Giving a work buddy some other choc and a plant for their birthday and receiving a warm hug. Hugs are good.
weather staying dry for my early morning walk and then kept walking to get bus to work. This is new to me as I always took my dog back in after the walk, gave her breakfast and saw her settled for a snooze before heading off for the bus. So maybe new routines are small wins when I can manage them.
lots to be grateful for today.
Have a good evening turtle friends x8 -
A slow day for me, my knees are besy friends with the ibuprofen gel. Mrs Builder came and the kitchen and shower room are clean. I had put the duvet cover out on the line even though it was raining but the rest of the wash load went back in for a rinse, draine and spin. It was all bundled up inside the duvet cover and very wet. Mrs Builder hung that load out for me and put in some things I'd left by the bathroom door. I added my dressing gown and a sheet and set load number 2 off.
I moved some 6 packs of water to the bottom of the stairs and asked Mrs Builder to put them near the under stairs so I could move them around later. I swept a large pile of bits together in the front room (a mixture of rubbish and recycling but most has been in a bag at some point and fallen out again). I asked Mrs Builder to sweep it onto a shovel and bag it and she also took various bags of recycling to the bins.
Grateful for Mrs Builder, entertaining tv series (really good drama) and the bed. I'll be asleep soon.
