NST June 2026: Onwards and Upwards

June is a month of positivity. A month of Onwards and Upwards: an idiom that means to continuously make progress, improve your position, or focus on a positive future.

You may be at rock bottom or halfway up a mountain. Or, as turtles, you may be in the Mariana Trench or in Lake Titicaca. We all have different starting points. And this month, we shall aim to make progress, improve our position and focus on doing things for the future. Baby steps really will get you somewhere.

Finances: take a long hard Paddington-style look at your finances. Income. Outgoings. Debt repayments. Savings. Budgets. Do NSDs help you or guilt-trip you?

Life admin: Will. POA. Pension. Emergency fund.

Health: Food + drink. Move your body. Ailments - need to get them treated? What could make your life better? Sleep. Breathe. Get outside.

Mental health: Laugh. Meditate. Do things every day that make you happy. 'No' is a complete sentence. Spend time with people whose company you enjoy. Take the pills that keep you sane.

Hobbies: Do them! Enjoy them! Hey, flaunt them!!! Maybe try a new one.

We're in this together - no turtle EVER gets left behind. Do post regularly and keep in touch.

Every day is a fresh start to do something that our future selves will thank us for.
