I don't know the history, but I'm guessing "Tax Credits" was included in the name to address people asking about TCs in the Tax forum.

Personally, I'd lean towards not including Pension Credit in the title for the same reasons we are asking for Tax Credits to be removed, as Pension Credit may not exist or may be renamed at some point in the future. "Benefits" is universal (no pun intended) and covers everything.

I wouldn't have DWP as it's such a toxic brand I wouldn't be surprised if there is a name change (again) in the future Also would exclude child benefit.

'Benefits and Entitlements' sounds good to me, as it covers things like council tax discounts, and anything else that a benefits claim passports to that's not an official social security provision.

Not sure why that would be. I get a small amount of Pension Credit, I know it’s a benefit 😺

Because people ask for advice on Pension credit - which is not a working age benefit.

Pension credit questions are more appropriate on this board than on the pension board.

I don't know why anyone would pretend that Pension Credit isn't a benefit.

I know a lot of people don't like the idea that the state pension is a benefit.

Thanks for all the feedback. We're always happy to consider suggestions for updating the names of boards so that the Forum is as useful as it can be.

Generally speaking, while it isn't necessarily difficult to change a board's name, we do have to carefully consider when and how to do so. Redirects need to be put in place so that any existing links will still work and they need to be implemented carefully so that the Forum's visibility on search engines isn't impacted. Also, we need to be mindful of what best serves visitors and users with different levels of MoneySaving knowledge. What might make complete sense for some users might not be intuitive to others.

We'll monitor this thread for further feedback before taking any action, so please do continue to vote and offer suggestions for new names.

As an aside, we've had to remove a fair few posts from this thread which were taking it off track, so a gentle reminder to please stay on topic.
