Does this board need a rename?

(I originally posted this on the 'Site feedback and Forum Help' section, but got no response there. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6666774/mse-benefits-tax-credits-board#latest ).

So here it is again, this time as a poll.

As Tax Credits in the UK were abolished over a year ago now, in April 2026, isn't it time that the "Benefits & tax credits" board here on MSE was renamed?

I'd suggest that a suitable new title, which isn't that much of a change, could be:
'Benefits & Pension Credit'.

Yes, the name is outdated so it should be renamed.

No, even though Tax Credits no longer exist.

It's easier for the mods to leave the name as it is.

People may still have occasional questions about historic awards/overpayments etc.

Tax Credits as a name may make a comeback at some point and then the board would need renamed again.

Actually it would not be that onerous for someone with Admin permissions to change the name. (I'm not sure if moderator permissions would be enough on this forum software).

Changing the board name on this forum software would not even break existing links, (which might be an issue on other forum softwares).

I never said it would onerous! No seconds is still less than thirty.

Tax Credit was still a benefit, always been unsure why it needed the add on in the first place.

I'm happy to raise this with the forum staff for consideration.

Shall we let the poll run for a bit to give regular forum users a chance to express their views, then I can flag it up for attention.

Pension Credit is also a benefit (although many pensioners and newspapers would rather pretend it isn't).

Just call it the Benefits board. That's what it is after all.

    Yes.

    And so is Pension Credit.

So this suggestion doesn't need "& Pension Credit" either.

I'd suggest that a suitable new title, which isn't that much of a change, could be:
    'Benefits & Pension Credit'.

I agree, but PC isn't in the forum name which makes having TC in the name inconsistent, why I've never understood having TC in the first place.

    Benefits and Welfare?

Covers the legal name, as well as the most common term.

same with Parking Tickets, Fines and Parking sub forum of the Motoring section

I’ll bet there’s quite a few that could do with a revamp
