Defunct land next to house

I have reported things in my area like fly tipping, bollards on verges being removed so hmo dwellers can drive over the verge/pavement to get 3 cars on the drive, pavement parking and potholes and all I get back is bog standard reply saying it will sorted with in 4 to 8 weeks depending on how bad it is.
I never get a follow up from the council to say it's fixed or anything.
As for street lights will you need a number from the lamp post to give to the council and will you get a response to say it's done or it's nothing to do with them?
You could contact your local councillor and see what thier response is.

That's a good idea, I haven't heard of Fix My Street - thank you! I spoke to the Highways dept today as they have responsibility for the street lights and they do know about the lane ones - which is really odd as the lights have recently been replaced by LEDs so they obviously know they're there! I did say to the person on the phone that this was a complete waste of resources as all 3 lights serve no purpose at all!

Would you rather have a strip of land for potential burglars to use or would you rather it be claimed by neighbours and yourself?
Yhave just stated to the street lights department no one uses it for pleasure or lawful reasons
This only popped into my head as a friend recently got burgled from a pathway behind their property.

OP talk to all the home owners that the lane that backs onto their property and tell to claim as their own and then they won't get burgled.
If a burglar wants to get into your property they will, it may deter some but it is a bit of a deterrent to them but it won't stop them.

Just a thought, didn't say they won't get burgled (please point this out exactky where I said to do this!!) but it takes away one of the risks.
Homes backing onto footpaths are statistically more likely to get burgled so I thought appropriate to add this to the melting pot.

FixMyStreet covers every local authority area across the UK, mapping thousands of wards. While it sends reports on my behalf, although my Council does not actively monitor or officially respond to issues submitted via the FixMyStreet platform.
Better to use your own local authorities' app or website.
