Defunct land next to house

Do you get on with the "it's my land" person?
OP said this earlier in the thread.
They only moved in last year and because the lane separates us, we've not had any contact…

I never saw it in the opening post but thanks for pointing it out to me.

The Land registry shows a very old map of the original development with the lane as part of the whole development. This is where I found the original building company - now defunct as well - insolvent since 1977 but still not wound up!

Checked ours and we don't - checked the neighbours who are building in the lane and they don't either.

I have only checked the deeds of the house doing the work in the lane - it just shows the land for the house - no additional access to or from the lane.
no garages as each house is a bungalow which has an integrated garage linked to the next door house.
We have access via our own driveway and side access down the opposite side to the lane.

So, who does own the lane?
Is the lane adopted highways extent?

this is what I'm trying to find out - searching land registry only comes up with the original developers land registry number etc - since 1965 when the development started, as each house was sold, it was given it's own number - what shows on the title plan is that the land where the lane is, has been unsold since the development began - it's all very confusing!

no - the lane shows up on the council map as 'invalid'

insolvent since 1977 but still not wound up!
If it hasn't been wound up, presumably it still has officers and a registered office?
