Hello everyone. I haven't been on for a long time but thought I'd pop in to say hello; hope you haven't forgotten me. 🙂 Things have been a bit tough here as A's pain has really increased this year and his mobility has deteriorated and he hasn't been able to get out for nearly two months. He really struggles even to move around the flat with his walking frame. He's on pain management medication, which has been tweaked several times and for a while gave him some unpleasant side effects but they seem to have subsided, for now at least.
As he cannot get out he has a private physio who comes once a week (he had a referral for an NHS community physio two months ago but we've heard nothing) and on Monday a podiatrist is coming. He's had an OT visit and she recommended various aids/adaptations which we are in the process of buying/installing.
The hot weather has been a trial but fortunately we have a portable air con unit which we keep in the sitting room and so we have one room at least that is fairly cool. I washed a linen tablecloth and a fitted sheet this morning and the tablecloth dried in no time on the rack, so that was a hot weather bonus.
I hope that you are all well and enjoying life.

Good to have you back with us, @Cloth_of_Gold . Sorry to hear about A's increased pain, and hope the various aids and adaptations help. It's tough being stuck indoors when everything is greening up outside.
As usual, K has done a wonderful job on our house today and I should not need to do any more flying until the weekend if DH does his share of keeping things tidy. I gave Rosie a good comb this morning before K brought out the Dy$0n thingy, so she has been a bit cooler than yesterday. There's also been a pleasant breeze through the house with the windows open front and back.

Just had a catch up but have only just finished work.
Started the day with a 3.5 mile walk this morning, didn't feel quite on it and was slower and wasn't able to reach my morning target. Have been at the desk all day with a short break at lunchtime when DH and I did our exercise routine.
DD and DH have no idea what they fancy for dinner so I need to go and find some inspiration.
I plan on emptying the DW, doing dinner then nothing else today.
The weather is much cooler here even with the sunshine, which means I will need to find a hoodie or something shortly as the back of the house (and kitchen) is north facing and below my ideal temp.
Hope you all have a good evening, back when I can

Hello CoG - that must be hard for you both… I hope you manage to get some me time.
went here
forum acting up (for me) - despite the fact I have flagged this thread it doesn't show at all; last night I could not post that link! (and no, it wasn't the gin 😂)
Today I'm off to town
and I am lunching at a lovely, independent cafe. I'll give the tower tours a miss though - been up there before!

Welcome back CoG, you have been missed.
We've had rain overnight which has cooled things down a bit. I'm starting paid stuff soon but have already walked Poppet and done dailies. I'll see what flying I can fit in during my lunch break.
Have a great day everyone.

So far I've unloaded the DW and put a wooly wash on. I've already bagged up old tea towels and flannels so they're waiting to be taken to the local vets.
I remembered to put the bin out Tuesday evening for collection Wednesday morning but forgot to put the green bin out for this morning's collection so ran out to do it at 6.30 this morning cos I could hear the lorry on the road behind my house. It's not been collected yet. I also bagged up and put out a sack of clothes for the charity collect today. I've sorted out and thrown a few more recipes while drinking my coffee.
GS is coming over this morning while DD1 takes the baby to the Dr's, she's not drinking. DD2 is supposed to be coming over as well, if she ever gets up. I've done 3 half hour calls so far this morning. If she does come over hopefully she'll play cars and dinosaurs so my back can have a break.

Morning all,
Lovely to see you back with us, CoG. Sorry to read about A. Like Valli said, I hope you do manage to get out occasionally, even if just for a coffee and pastry - or a cheese straw, if my memory serves me correctly?
Valli, the forum is acting up for me too - none of my bookmarked threads are showing alerts. Luckily, this one never gets closed or else I would probably never find you all again.I have watered the back garden and gh this morning. It is very pleasant out there at the moment, with a lovely breeze. I am hoping for cooler things to come, as not sleeping + hot weather makes for a very grumpy Fayolle. And don’t mention the insects that love to have a nibble on my apparently tasty blood every night, ignoring anyone else. I am off to meet ex work colleagues for lunch, hopefully in their air conditioned office so that I can flop. DH was going “early” to cut down some stinging nettles from a neighbouring plot that are hanging over my path. “Early” apparently is not before 10am, given that he is now drinking coffee and watching mindless posts. Whoever knew.
Not a lot of flying mentioned…I may tackle the ironing pile later…6 -
I haven't flown at all. apart from bins out. Been to 1940s market and swimming. Was lovely in te water

Tiring day yesterday. I had my GS and DD2 also came over. They are both very loud so I tend to get headaches when I'm with them both.
I still had to play cars but most of it was done by DD2 although I did have to have a digger book read to me 5 times. We also played with all the wooden food that DD2 and I brought him for his birthday (Mr Al bargains)
I was allowed to some washing, S/S the kitchen and do the DW. I did try to convince them to go through all the toys and sort out the ones we don't need anymore but neither of them were up for that.
After they all went I didn't do much (per usual). I put away the toys, reworked my meal plan and shopping lists to work round a new budget as I've over spent else where. I did do the DW after dinner as well.
I have 2 groups today so that's the morning and lunch time taken up. I have to nip to my parents before I go so my Mum can "fix" my knitting for me as I'm taking that to the craft group.
We'll see what i actually get done later
