Maybe that was an optional step, though don't recall it being as so.

But it was to my benefit -as the new passcode did let me in!

Once i've actually transferred money from another bank to my nom account - i will then load my money in. Hoping to scrape under the deadline window closing tomorrow.

I couldn't register for online banking because it required me to have an account to use for registration. At that point I did not have the details for the account so could not progress that route.

I already have the 5% 18 month N/Wide account. Looking for somewhere to put £10K this year and my problem is that after tax it's only 3% or 4% and I'd be better off putting the money in an easy access saver until next April when I can drop it into an ISA.

Since the interest for this new NW product won't be credited, and therefore taxable, until the next tax year, this means that you've already allocated your 27-28 savings allowance to another product, then? Are you saying that this current tax year you've got some allowance unused?

No I never have any unused allowance. Every year my ISA & PBs are maxed out and have taxable interest well into 5 figures. In terms of fixed rate savings I prefer most of it in one place so mainly use NS&I ( no FSCS limit) but I also use Raisin and have one N/Wide 18 month fix. I think i will stick my spare £10K in a 9 month fix so it'll mature in time for, & go towards next year's ISA .

I always seem to have a fix maturing around April / May to fund my ISA allowance, usually a 6 or 9 month one that was funded from a multi year matured fix from the last 6 to 10 months .
