Indeed @Rheumatoid! Thanks @soulsaver but as a VM customer without an existing NW account I will have to wait. Certainly didn't notice any new account details anywhere per @clivep when I had the screen advising application successful, perhaps that's also only if you apply as an existing NW customer.
I'm not too concerned about the wait, shame to lose a few days' extra interest though.

I did not see any account information either. @mebu60 any updated details arrived and if so, how (email or post)?

@Asimovs_nightfall - arrived in the post on Friday and login set up fine, even saw my shiny new account listed. Logged out and did what I always do to double check I have noted correct details and attempted to log back in. Kept erroring on the passcode from the letter which I was surprised to be asked for again having set up memorable details. Contacting customer 'support' was a nightmare and I didn't have the time. Have been away since, rather hoping it was just a syncing issue, that they probably have an overnight update or some such, and all will be wonderful Monday morning as I have yet to transfer the £10k from its current home. I have until 7 June to make my deposit. Fingers crossed for the morning.

I have just tried to log on for the first time using info in my letter that just arrived. website says passnumber and text don't match. App reports unknown problem.
Telephone support just cuts off as too busy. Chat is hopeless and have just said I need to apply for new passnumber which I expect will put me past funding deadline. Not a good experience with Nationwide as a new customer.

@Rheumatoid - identical experience, you are not alone! Tried logging on again this morning and again still tells me passnumber and text code incorrect. I tried calling Friday but after hanging on for ages tried the chat. The human I eventually got was worse than the chatbot! Tried calling again, eventually got through and after explaining the issue I was abruptly cut off.
Unbelievably poor first experience of Nationwide. Perhaps they should spend less on their tv adverts and more on improving their customer service.
The marginal gain on this £10k limited account after tax compared to elsewhere really isn't worth the time, effort and stress. Plus this isn't simplifying my holdings which I really ought to pay more attention to for my daughter's sake, though hopefully I have a bit more time!

You aren't missing much with Nationwide, they're vastly overrated in my opinion. I only use them to take advantage of the occasional offer.

Heavens, you people. It is the first of the month and a Monday. Nationwide will be exceptionally busy with all that's going on. Give them a chance

Give them a chance??!! They had their chance(s) last week. Worst customer experience I've had for quite some time and an appalling first impression. And not an isolated incident either.
What I have given them is a piece of my mind with some very detailed feedback on their not-fit-for-purpose processes as they kindly sent me a form asking how they did!!

That sounds very much like a chance of a goodwill / apology payment.

silly statement. Whatever day of the week/month it is their system should not block you when entering correct signing in credentials as supplied by them.
