Kent Reliance

As anyone had any dealing with these. I am thinking of moving a partial transfer, from Ford Money to them, on there 1 year fix, previous years monies.

Not sure how long the process will take, or if i am likely to have any issues.

Thank you. Any advice would help.

Have used them, for a different product, my only issue has been the account works on a nominated account basis for funding/withdrawing and my bank changed my bank details… for DDs and everything else my other bank dealt with it for me but for Kent Reliance it was a bit of a pain having to send physical documents to change the nominated account

I've had ISAs with them for a number of years. I transferred out when they had no competitive product, but have now opened a new ISA with them and transferred back in.

No issues with transferring in either direction, but I don't have experience of a partial transfer. I have found them pretty good over the years.

Have used them for years - never any issues.

I’ve used them for many years and had no issues. The online services messaging service (once logged in) has been very efficient in dealing with any questions or requests that I had. The only down point is that they used to allow deposits into their fixed cash ISAs at any point, but this seems to be changing from July, and deposits can only be made in the first 30 days of opening an account. This has been a nice perk of being with Kent Reliance.

I have an account with them and I’ve not received this information. Transfers in from other ISA providers are 30 days but deposits from your nominated account can happen at any time. This is in existing and new accounts right now.

Area88 … that’s interesting! I’ve received e-mails from KR in the last couple of weeks explaining changes to both Easy Access ISAs and Fixed Rate ISA with the move to their new online services.

This was attached to the e-mail about Fixed Rate:

Thanks for posting. I think that wording is in relation to transfers in from another ISA provider.

Payments from your nominated account should be unaffected. They are not allowed to change the terms and conditions of an ISA and they are also advertising payments at any time on new accounts.

Their email for fixed rate accounts explicitly say "Your account terms and conditions remain the same" yet this seems like a big change to me:

Deposits into a Fixed Rate ISA will not be possible after the move to our new Online Services. If you want to make any additional deposits into your ISA, you must do this before the move.

For Easy Access and Notice savings accounts they do say they are changing the terms and conditions and offer closing them at any time without charge or loss of interest.

However I think they should allow early exit without penalty for their fixed rate bonds (including ISAs) due to that change in the option to make additional deposits?

I think one of us probably needs to email or phone Kent Reliance for clarification. I agree with your penalty free point.

Call centre staff are often badly informed/trained. I would do it by e mail/secure message, so you have a record of the answer.

One possible reading of the info, is that existing fixed rate ISA accounts can not be added to after they have transferred to the new online service ( Maybe due to some technical issue) but that the facility will still be available for new accounts?
