It wasn't me HB but I hope you enjoy your holiday x
One washload done and dried outside in record time, very warm here. We made it out to local small town and had a walk by the river and then coffee. So nice to go somewhere. A few bits of shopping too because we're unlikely to go again for a while. I'm dogsitting from Saturday to Monday, guinea pig sitting from Saturday to Saturday and (different) dog sitting from Thursday to Sunday. Keeps me out of mischief. Think there will be lots of watering to do in two gardens.
I vacuumed the bedrooms this morning when we got home. And I cooked a roast dinner so I don't have to do it Sunday when it's due to be even hotter and I am dogsitting.
Hope everyone's OK x

DH has cleaned the hall, stairs and landing carpet. We do hoover regularly but the water was decidedly murky and contained a lot of cat hair.
Main bedroom is dusted, hoovered and tidy. I'll organise one of the drawers later as I don't intend wearing thick tights, chunky socks or woolly hats for a few months 😎I took a photo and wiped clean the whiteboard that organises our lives. There was so much rubbish written on it that it was a complete muddle. It looks neat now and all important info has been re-written on it.
I need to pot up a few geraniums for some summer colour but at the moment I'm still building up the enthusiasm to tackle that.

I took Rosie to the vet this morning: she is back on tablets and the standard liquid painkiller in the purple packaging (I expect most owners of arthritic dogs will know the type I mean) which, thankfully, she takes very readily. She also has to have her foot bathed in salt water 2-3 times a day, rest as much as possible, and only go out for walks on tarmac/paving. It was such a lovely day, and DH suggested going here again (our favourite local NT property), so we dug out our sun hats and sandals and enjoyed the sunshine, gardens, special exhibition and a light lunch, but didn't stay for long, as we'd left Rosie at home alone because her Auntie L (the dog walker) had arranged to come and visit her at 3pm. L brought with her her son's young spaniel, who Rosie knows well, and I was delighted - and more than a bit relieved - that Rosie welcomed Arley coming into our house. Normally she is reluctant to let anybody, even family and regular visitors, past the front door without barking at them.
I gave several different types of flower seeds and evening primrose seedlings to L [fer-ling!], and have promised to save her half a dozen very frilly purple and green tulips which I won in a raffle - L loves them and I don't.
Flying-wise, I did a bit of hoovering and a bit of dusting before we went out, and I've washed up this evening because DH was going out out to his wargames club. He's got an early appointment tomorrow at the hospital for a planned procedure unrelated to his recent in-patient stays, so he's come home from club earlier than usual. Rosie is already fast asleep, though she will wake up immediately she hears me opening her tub of bedtime treats! She's done rather well for fish treats (her favourite) today, but she has been so good with the vet and her visitors that she deserved every one of them.
Hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday weekend - don't get sunburnt! xxx

Morning all. It's a beautiful day already.
I've got up early to take Poppet out before it gets too warm. In the heat today I need to bake sponges for DGD1s birthday cake which I will decorate tomorrow ahead of her party on Monday. Five already. Fortunately the cake will be fondant not buttercream so should survive the heat. Football theme, she's not a princesses kind of girl.
Later I am meeting friends. I'm planning on staying awake today by not taking tablets if I can. Finally found out yesterday that I have problems with my spine. I'm due to see doctor next week to discuss further.
Have a great day everyone. Remember the sun cream.

ooh it's hot - slept sans bedding most of the night. All curtains/blinds will remain closed today and I have a jug of water in the fridge.
washing to go out on the line later.

Me again. The fan oven has broken. Just having a cuppa and an inner cry while I wait to see if the top oven is working and start all over again.

Flying in for a quick visit
Have printed off the whole weeks list to focus on.
Have already done my exercises today, and a 4.5 mile walk to get some steps in for our work challenge. Washing machines has just finished so going to hang that out and put the next lot in.
Haven't caught up with fred yet but hope you are all ok, thanks to Natty and Valli for keeping it going

Top oven is vicious but I think between the two layers I salvaged earlier and these four I should be able to construct a cake. Fondant decorations are looking good though.
Washing is on the line.

I'd love to be able to pause the world just so I can catch up with everything I need to do and a pause from doing for everyone else.
This is what I've been up to in no actual order -
I cleaned the oven!! I'm so pleased with myself (yes I know that's sad), the next day my knees really did ache though from being on the floor so long.
I'm happy with everything else I got done in the kitchen.
I'm still working through my collection of recipe books (yes I have that many) writing out the odd recipes I want to keep so then the books can go to charity. There are of course some books I just can't get rid of.
At the same time I've been getting rid of written out recipes I don't want/ didn't like to make room. I've also sorted out my filing and shredded more paperwork.
I ordered a new dvd folder so have sorted through and changed over the dvds from my old tatty folders. The new one holds a lot more as well.
On Wednesday I had one of my groups which I always find quite tiring so only a S/S round the kitchen and bathroom plus a load in the DW.
On Wednesday afternoon i got a video call from my GS and DD1. It seems GS had been saying he hadn't been to my house for a long time and he needed to come and play! So on Thursday he came over for the day so all I got done was the DW again as I had to play cars, dinosaurs and dinosaurs on trains! My poor knees again! He's not old enough to understand I can't move as quick as him but we had a good time and I was shattered when he left.
Because of how my family are DD2 was miffed off when she video called me and GS answered because I hadn't told her he was coming but as she'd worked later the night before and was working later that day I didn't see the point. It's the same with my parents, I didn't tell them either because he didn't want to go round there.
Thursday is also the day I normally go to DD1 mother in law ish but I couldn't say why I wasn't going cos she'd get jealous.
DD1 and GS invited me strawberry picking Friday afternoon after my group. I made sure she told her sister so we didn't get in trouble again. She invited her but said she didn't have room in the car because of the 2 car seats so DD2 would have to get the train. Of course that was wrong too. You can never win, sigh.
Last night I put a wash on so this morning I put that on the airer and some in the TD, still can't use the garden because of next doors building work.
I put both the WM and DW on cleaning washes while I made the first of 3 banana loaves with some very ripe bananas DD2 gave me. She has the habit of buying and never eating.
The DW is back on and the cats water fountain is soaking in a white vinegar solution to see if I can get rid of some limescale on it while I have a drink and watch a bit of supervet I'd recorded.

washing on the line. Been to Mr L as I checked the app and I had a £5 off £30 spend so I made a list and did a top up shop plus got ingredients for Greek salad because it's too hot to cook. AF lager chilling in the fridge.
