I took Rosie to the vet this morning: she is back on tablets and the standard liquid painkiller in the purple packaging (I expect most owners of arthritic dogs will know the type I mean) which, thankfully, she takes very readily. She also has to have her foot bathed in salt water 2-3 times a day, rest as much as possible, and only go out for walks on tarmac/paving. It was such a lovely day, and DH suggested going here again (our favourite local NT property), so we dug out our sun hats and sandals and enjoyed the sunshine, gardens, special exhibition and a light lunch, but didn't stay for long, as we'd left Rosie at home alone because her Auntie L (the dog walker) had arranged to come and visit her at 3pm. L brought with her her son's young spaniel, who Rosie knows well, and I was delighted - and more than a bit relieved - that Rosie welcomed Arley coming into our house. Normally she is reluctant to let anybody, even family and regular visitors, past the front door without barking at them.

I gave several different types of flower seeds and evening primrose seedlings to L [fer-ling!], and have promised to save her half a dozen very frilly purple and green tulips which I won in a raffle - L loves them and I don't.

Flying-wise, I did a bit of hoovering and a bit of dusting before we went out, and I've washed up this evening because DH was going out out to his wargames club. He's got an early appointment tomorrow at the hospital for a planned procedure unrelated to his recent in-patient stays, so he's come home from club earlier than usual. Rosie is already fast asleep, though she will wake up immediately she hears me opening her tub of bedtime treats! She's done rather well for fish treats (her favourite) today, but she has been so good with the vet and her visitors that she deserved every one of them.

Hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday weekend - don't get sunburnt! xxx

washing on the line. Been to Mr L as I checked the app and I had a £5 off £30 spend so I made a list and did a top up shop plus got ingredients for Greek salad because it's too hot to cook. AF lager chilling in the fridge.
