DH has put the empty photo albums and cut-off bits of cardboard into the appropriate bin/bag.
I have flown: hoovered the LR, hall, kitchen and DR, and mopped the kitchen floor; made my bed, and opened windows upstairs.
DH has gone to his eye test.
I need to get rid of the insurance frog but I'm tired. Perhaps the shower will wake me up, then I will make a start. We're going out for lunch, so no cooking tonight!
Hope everyone has a good day xxx

Bin bag dance done
Vacuum cleaner emptied
Old mattress protector/padded thing have gone in the black bin. I can buy a new one at Dun3lm but not in stock here - in stock at the one near where DD is now living - could combine collecting it with a visit to hers - with a box of her stuff muhahah
Wicker hamper collected from SD's and filled with cushions (ik3a cushions) which I am donating to former colleague at school so that's a good fling.
Kitchen S&S.
Washing on line - probably only have an hour or so but it is bedding, it will blow a bit and I can fold it neatly until the next dry day.
Going out for lunch

I'm most impressed with the flingage Valli. You've been going great guns for months.
Everyone I know who's been to Japan has loved it Fayolle, so I'm glad you had a good reason to go. I hope Miss Fayolle is having a whale of a time.
Sofa shifted from sitting room to superking, dog food boxes weighed out and pills put in clearly marked bags for the dog sitter. Breakfast scoffed, plans laid for train journey picnic meals, dog collar packed up and thank you card written for my cousin in America, vacuuming carried out where the old sofa was moved to, and the new-to-us sofa will be. Exercises x 1. CS, post office, hole in the wall and corner shop run about to commence.

Afternoon all. One washload done and dried indoors. Grass cut which I'm glad about because it's raining now. Took DD2's dog out for a walk because their dog walker is on holiday this week. Luckily it stayed dry for that. Lunch done and cleared away (we have our main meal at lunchtime because DH suffers with reflux if he eats too late). He's watching cycling now and I'm fiddling about on here. We haven't been on holiday for 2 years even in this country because he hasn't got the stamina any more :(

I'm so sorry PollyBear than Mr P'Bear can't do holidays at the moment. Can you and he have day trips out sometimes, even if they're short? I don't get holidays very often; it just so happens that I'm having a year of it this year but most years I don't go away at all.
It cost nearly £20 to post the dog collar to my cousin in America, which is more than it cost! Anyway, it's gone. The Hole In The Wall was out of order so I've shuffled money and that's now sorted, and re-edited the animals care schedules' so carers know what they're doing.
Onwards and upwards.

I have decluttered the home insurance frog and saved myself £50 by using the MSE comparison and changing insurers - very pleased! [insert Martin emoji]
DH and I went out for lunch to one of our favourite GC restaurants. He had cottage pie which he greatly enjoyed (especially because it came with chips - surely an excess of potato?) and I ordered leek, cheese and potato bake. It sounded great, and the salad which came with it was excellent, but the main dish was a huge disappointment - more like mash with a touch of cheese and a few bits of cooked leek mixed in, topped with more grated cheese. It had certainly never seen the inside of a conventional oven, or even an air fryer, and had probably been heated up in a microwave. I ate it all because I was brought up not to waste food, but I've vowed never to order it again.
DS1 called in on his way home from work and did some little jobs for us, including relocating the up/down control doofah from the far side of DH's fancy bed to the near side, as whenever DH was ill enough for me to have had to ring for an ambulance, I had found it very difficult to get past the end of his bed to change the angles and get him sitting more upright, then rush back again to lift his legs onto the bed, then go back to the doofah and adjust the bed again, repeated any number of times between 3 and infinity, at a point where I was already fully stressed by the state of his health. He wasn't 100% happy about the change but reluctantly agreed in order to "keep the peace".
The screen wash reservoirs in both cars have been refilled; I have learnt how to use the propane weed burner - so easy when you know how; and DS1 has taken photos of our best flowering plants to email, one a day, to a colleague who is off sick long-term, just to let her know that someone is thinking of her.
Now I must make another cuppa and then wend my way across town to what will doubtless be an extremely
excitingboring PCC meeting. Hope your evenings are better than mine!xxx

Fayolle yes it is a bit of a terminology learning curve with the prospective EV but I'm probably over-analysing and over-researching as usual.
Love Florence. Haven't been there for years but 2 visits running I found the same restaurant which did the best mushroom risotto in the world.
- emptied the DW of cups, plates and forks from the church group's gathering.
- one load washing done, only one or two items are needed for hols so I'm taking the chance it won't rain tonight and leaving it on the washing line.
- suitcase pretty much packed, amidst much muttering with Mr N and consulting the weather forecast.
- went to aqua zumba
- went to 'work' and finished filing/archiving my current box, albeit by 4.45 rather than the 3.45 I'd hoped so I could leave early.
- went to zumba
- messaged neighbour about watering the greenhouse while we're away as the forecast is for hot.
- messaged friend we're meeting in Retford for a meal tomorrow to confirm location (pub)
- downloaded holliday reading onto Kindle
- who knows what else, but nothing earth-shattering remains on my to-do list.
Aiming to set off at about 11am which probably means no sleep (thinking about what we've forgotten to do/pack) until about 5am then undoubtedly falling into a deep sleep then waking up in a panic at about 10am…then adding "stuff" to our bags in the last 5mins before leaving thus making it unmanageable.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.6 -
all the dry/almost dry washing has been ironed and is airing.
been to see an amateur performance of Jerusalem…well they are amateur in name only…
been to see this garden.

Morning all,
As predicted (I know myself too well, it seems), flying was minimal yesterday. In fact it was HHI, so you couldn’t get more minimal. Lunch out was had with DSis, and a board game pushed in her direction. Ferrrrrling. Today has started grey, dull and breezy. No sign of the previously forecast sunny intervals as yet. Onwards and upwards, I am going to the allotment to get rid of more weeds that have had a field day since we went away. It is going to be a poor production year this year. First, I need to sort put yesterday’s clean washing that has been draped indoors, faff a bit, then go. The aim is to make a flying effort this afternoon…

Washing on the line. Another basket/tray out of freezer and washed - I have learned (the hard way) they need to be done one at a time or there's a risk they'll fall down from the draining board. I've also decluttered some old stuff out of freezer but it has gone into the food waste caddy so I don't feel too guilty.
Mattress cover ordered for spare bed; as I have also (finally!) ordered the curtains I qualified for free delivery so why not. Plus I remembered to go through quidco so pleased with myself.
Feather pillow has gone in the bin - when I took the protector off it bits flew everywhere so I just walked out of the room to let it all settle. The valance sheet is on the line so slowly, but surely, that room will start to come together over the next few days - it will be made with fresh bedding so is ready for use.
