Morning All, hugs to all that need them.
Yesterday I worked on a meal plan, freezer inventory and shopping list. I made the mistake of leaving the paperwork on the sofa and woke up this morning to find that Basil my older cat had thrown up all over it.
As you can imagine I wasn't very pleased, so first thing was the WM on and my lists rewritten. The wash has now finished and half is in the TD and the other half on the airer.
Windows are open, how long for I'm not sure as it's quite nippy here.
Fruit In the fruit bowl is all OK. The DW is half loaded, I'll put it on after dinner.
All the sides and appliances wiped, including the hob, microwave and sink. Cleaning stuff was put down at the weekend as I've had a problem with ants. Only near the sink, so im guessing theyre coming up the plug hole. The plug is permanently in for now. I've also done the toaster and was surprised at the amount of crumb build-up. The kettle didn't need doing.
There's not much in the bin so no point putting it out. I've sorted through all my cleaning cloths and binned the old and tatty ones. I've also done the same with the bags for life that have now been folded and removed to a small canvas bag hanging on a hook on the cupboard under the stairs door.
I tried to take the WM filter out, obviously after it finished but I couldn't get it to come out so gave up. Once the TD has finished I'll clear that one out.
I've stopped for a coffee and to take my midday meds before I start again. I'm currently trying to talk myself into cleaning the oven.

Welcome back, @kiss_me_now9 [waves]
Slightly off piste, but I have
- arranged the return of two items to the Jungle
- checked with L the dog walker when she will be on holiday and ensured that the correct dates are in my diary
- cleaned the bathroom thoroughly, including both sides of the shower screen; left the shower mat soaking in water with plenty of bleach; damp wiped and hoovered the floor
- stripped my bed, washed the bedlinen, re-made my bed with my other set (which was exhausting)
- enjoyed a cup of coffee made (reluctantly) by DH
- dusted and hoovered my bedroom
- emptied the upstairs bins.
Lunch next (bacon rolls), then a sit-down break, then I'll go first to the PO with the returns and then on to MrAl.
I missed seeing the baby blue tits fledging at the end of last week, but they've definitely gone. The nest box is almost covered with ivy which has scooted up the ash tree in what seems like no time.

This weather is enough to give everyone the grumps.
I haven't been able to catch up yet but I'm back until Friday morning and this house desperately needs some Flying attention, although I can't guarantee it's going to happen between now and then. We've got a paying guest arriving the day we get back from Glasgow so something needs to happen between now and then. I think I need the Cat in the Hat to pay us a visit.
I keep a glass on the top of the cabinet in the bathroom with a spare toothbrush in it and a gum brush. My electric toothbrush died in Florence so I had to use the manual one - it had been up there so long it was dusty! Gave me the ick, but needs must. Just goes to show how much attention the whol house needs if a toothbrush gets dusty!
Florence was beyond fabulous for lots of reasons and I can't wait to go back. We're thinking of Inter-railing there in September but we need to balance dog-sitting availability, Belovéd's work plans and my stash of £££s (the real problem area but I've got four months so it's do-able) and Euros (not a problem area fortunately). I'm going to do a Dennis Healey on myself and get all my pips squeaking.

Ta da, level 1 of today’s list actually done. I have also had my eyes tested, chosen new frames (always such a stressful process) and been on an unexpected walk with a friend to keep my steps up and my aching leg moving. Easy dinner of macaroni cheese to prep, and I might try to make brownie recipe that Narc0 posted a while back. I actually feel like I might be back in the game, albeit at a level 1.
Congratulations to Jazee and Mr J.
HB, we had a lovely break in Florence when DD was about 17, just before covid. Tuscany might call us again, although DH has his sights set on further south in Puglia. Logistics and plan still to be worked out.8 -
Shopping done, everything put away, easy tea of sausage and pasta cooked - that's me done for today.
Perhaps we should arrange a Flylady meet in Florence??? 😃

today has mostly been administrative flying which has resulted in a very thorough to do list and a few items with a ✅
Posted some forms and also sent the order of service from my uncle's funeral to his nephews and nieces around the world. Eek to the price of postage.
I did some filing and shredding.
I cleaned the dining table, chairs and placemats, put the clean washing away and dusted the coffee table. All a bit ad hoc but it helps me to feel that I'm keeping on top of things.

Nothing got done yesterday as I could barely walk with pelvic girdle pain - my fault for spending all Sunday walking around a vintage car rally with my toddler and husband. I did get the clothes folded and put away (toddlers still need to go away). To add to my list of woes, I woke up at 2am last night and couldn’t get back to sleep until 4:30am. Thank God for mat leave. Going to take it easy today with quick housework tasks and some tasks I can do in bed or on the sofa -
Put last two loads of laundry onPut away toddler clothes- Wipe kitchen counters down
Convince OH to hoover and shampoo floors (we’ve got some… issues with one of our cats vomming on the floor every other day, should’ve done it a lot earlier but OH was tasked with gardening duties at the weekend and I can’t physically move the heavy washing vacuum atm)- Read 20 pages of my book (I’m determined to finish it before my birthday at the end of the month)
- Do 5 pages in my 5 year diary (I keep neglecting it, I catch up to the current date then get hit by something like a cold, fatigue, being busy in the house)
Email primary school near us to go have a look around for pre-school for toddler- Do something creative - either start rough rough drafting the story I’ve been trying to write for years or do some creative journaling.
DW has been cleared and reloaded as well as upstairs loo cleaned. It's toddlers shorter day at nursery today so I'll have to go get him in an hour - I was going to take him to the library but it's absolutely sheeting it down now and I'm not sure I can be bothered!

Afternoon all. Not enough washing for a load today. Bathroom and toilet cleaned this morning, and dusted, polished and vacuumed all through downstairs and up the stairs and washed the kitchen floor. Then DD2 rang up and we took her dog out then went for some shopping and coffee. Nice to get out because this weather has made me stir crazy. Got back and unpacked then the boiler service man came. All OK so safe for another year. The weather is still changeable but not quite as chilly today.
Hope everyone's OK x
