I almost won the lottery last week.

Unless you have something in writing to support your case you will end up paying not only the final payment but considerable costs.

I have dealt with Motorpoint, yes you can sometimes find a good cheap deal, but they are very professional when it comes to the accounting side of things, you will I'm sure have signed something that puts the final payment liablity on you.

Test it in court if you wish but be warned. You would have to be a little more consistent there than you have been here with your side of events:confused:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I think this is fairly standard. The couple of times I have put a car in for part-ex the dealer made it clear that it was valued including any tax outstanding, and this was also written on the paperwork. Not having dealt with motorpoint I don't know if this is made obvious by them.

For the tax on the new car, I've always discussed this when doing the deal, particularly when there's a stalemate on the price. Sometimes an extra 6 months tax can swing the deal, and I like to know exactly what I'm getting at what price. If you don't specify everything you want when you do the deal (and get it written on the order form) you can't come back later to complain if it's not included. I guess it comes back to the original question - Can you haggle with motorpoint?

Think this has gone past the point of "can you haggle with.....) taff ;) , reading the last few pages.

I am also wondering why another self-contradiction has been added, this person first agreeing under duress to accept the car earlier and before the last payment, but now dropping a hint this was a retention for alleged lateness, and therefore apparently vexatiously premeditated to clash with what was said first. As already said, this needs to be a lot better presented in court

Yes, but who owned my part exchange car at that point ?

The finance company because you hadn't made the flippin' final payment. It wasn't yours to sell and not owned by Motorpoint so you still owe the finance company.
